Is Chile boss willing to block Alexis transfer?

Alexis Sanchez is strongly linked with a move away from Arsenal today, but could his time with Chile end any hopes of a move?

The forward has allowed his contract to run into its final 12 months at present, and has talked about his keenness to play Champions League football this season, with Manchester United and Manchester City both linked.

Rumours had emerged claiming that Alexis Sanchez had been granted leave from his training camp in South America in order to complete a move ahead of tonight’s 11PM deadline, but coach Juan Antonio Pizzi has denied giving such allowances.

“No. It’s absolutely false. That permission never existed,” he said. “Sometimes players request authorisation for some things and sometimes we grant them and other times we don’t.

“I’m against rigid decisions, each case is different. We consider the individual situation of each player regarding many variables. But we always take into account that we are in a national team camp.”

With just over 12 hours remaining in the transfer window, we would have to act swiftly in order to bring in a top replacement with the money we could receive, but it all remains up in the air at present.

I can’t imagine that Pizzi would actually refuse him to leave the camp, although they do have a World Cup Qualifying match tonight 30 minutes after the transfer window closes, which could prove to be a problem for any potential suitors.

Will the match versus Paraguay stop Pizzi from allowing Alexis to travel? Do the majority of Arsenal fans even want him to stay or is his attitude becoming a problem?

  1. Interesting.

Sky Sports are reporting a rumor that Mahrez has booked a hotel in London.

I don’t think he’s better than Sanchez, so unless City gives us Aguero in return, Sanchez should stay put.

If we get that 70 mils for Sanchez without anyone in return and splash over half of that on Mahrez, trust me, we will the losers of those deals.

Besides, ANY profit made from sales goes to that disgusting yank’s pockets so Aguero in return or no deal.

      1. We are seriously short on the 25 squad now that Gibbs and OX are gone.

If we sell Sanchez, we will get a replacement (Wenger is incompetent, but not that idiotic).

If we sell Sanchez, and get Mahrez, we have degraded our team and also made profit for Satana Kroenke. I don’t want this to happen.

Pep is chequebook manager, if he wants Sanchez that bad (whom he has worked with), he might be stupid enough to do anything to get him.

    1. Apparently Mahrez isn’t coming to Arsenal. BBC say Arsenal have confirmed that to them

      1. Read that too. Also Mustafi is staying up.

Funny the state of being Arsenal fan nowadays: rather than rejoicing of new players coming in, we are rejoicing of at least someone staying put.

  2. Get Alexi out of the club! We have got rid of Oxelaide and now we need to get rid of Alexi. Once those two trouble makers have gone we will improve.

Why on earth we played them both in the Liverpool game I don’t know- let’s get rid!

    1. I asked the same thing. I guess Wenger wanted to know if their mind is still with Arsenal. And he got the answer. I would rather we get Mahrez than nobody. Or Draxler on loan.

  3. Arsenal trade Sanchez for Aquero. The latter is aproven sharpshooter compared
to Raheem. If not Wenger has to change tactics. Instead of passing all day,he
shd be like the cobra ready to shoot just like Mane scoring the goal..
If he still tries weave aball through a massed defence/2 lines of defenders,
    he will continue to lose.
You will notice Arsenal find it hard to score and easy to concede goals. Why? They take along
to go the box with passing all over the place. This gives defenders time to regroup and
the gunners ripe for counter which has happened so many times. Pools 3 goals
were from swift breakaways.Thats why Arsenal lost heavily against the top teams.

    1. Elneny and Xhaka were accomplished shooters at their former clubs. Not anymore. Why?

      Wenger forbade them to shoot.

  4. I’d like to think Wenger has something up his sleeve.. but I think come 11pm I’m going to be a very disappointed gooner! A very long season ahead ?

  5. And to all those Arsenal players who I heard wants Alexis out, you’re all a disgrace. I stand with Sanchez on this one, a player not willing to accept mediocrity and wants to be successful but others wants to take advantage of his stance to say he’s causing disharmony. I hope they perform this season without Sanchez who carried them till the end of last season.

  6. Water is life and a necessity, however having too much water at a go than the body resistance can take becomes a big problem. Having Alexis Sanchez with the outstanding work rate and skills at Arsenal is good, but having him beyond today is poison to Arsenal.

Sanchez leaving with/without replacement sparks off fans anger, campaign for the team rebuilding, Wenger/Kronke/Gazidis out promo and the likes. I think the reaction can only be for the overall good of AFC. No point patching it now only to be fu?ked down the line.

Bringing quality in today (not looking likely) may soften the blow but should never extinguish the fans anger and campaign for the needful. The only permanently constant “stakeholders” remain the fans. We will be here long after the current crop of players, Arsene Wenger, Gazidis and Kronke are gone and forgotten.

  7. Arsenal spent 36 mill to buy Sanchez
and now want 70 mill from City.
    34 mill profit.
But we are demanding a player too.
Why is 34 mill proit not enough?
If he goes on a free next summer then it would be a 70m loss.
    Last day gambling nerves 🙂
