Is Jack Wilshere certain to go to the World Cup?

So Jack Wilshere, who is currently in the last few months of his Arsenal contract, has earned a recall to Gareth Southgate’s England squad, and according to Martin Keown he should definitely be on the plane to Russia this summer. “Southgate does not have too many top-class midfielders to choose from,” Keown said.

“Jack Wilshere should start at the World Cup.

“While Arsenal are having a disappointing season, Jack is coming into really good form.

“The Europa League has helped him more than any other player, giving him time to build his match fitness and the chance to break into Arsenal’s first team.

“He gives Arsenal a drive in midfield when they are both in and out of possession. Hopefully he can do the same for England.

“I had sympathy for Jack at Euro 2016. He had hardly kicked a ball for Arsenal before the tournament and was lacking match sharpness.

“This summer is a great opportunity for him to shine at a tournament with a clean bill of health.”

Wilshere has certainly been extremely impressive at times this season and looks to be approaching peak fitness. One thing is for sure is that a great showing this summer in the World Cup could have many big clubs offering Jack large sums of money to sign him on a Bosman transfer, but it could also be a risk for Wilshere to wait until the end of the summer.

Just imagine if he got injured again….

  1. If Henderson is playing for the national team, then Wilshere being there is a matter of course. lol.

  2. “While Arsenal are having a disappointing season, Jack is coming into really good form”.

That sums it up. Jack contributes little to nothing to the club. He deceives people with his slick moves and unlike inesta, he doesn’t score or assist!

    1. Your meant to be an arsenal fan.
supporting your teams Players….That’s really harsh ……
      …….

      On iniesta!!

Jacks not even a shinpad on Andres leg !!
      Iniesta what a legend

  3. I don’t think any of us should go to the World Cup let alone Jack Wiltshere. Under the present climate the British government should make a stand against Russian aggression and boycott the competition and our European allies should follow suit. Without a doubt Russian hooligans will target English fans of which these days will be mostly made up from families rather than hardcore hooligans and will be encouraged to do so by the Russian state and media. Sometimes there’s more important things in life than football.

    1. Agreed.
Russia is a terrible place and the fact is that the Russian people voted that Stalin wannabee in says it all..

      1. U know Stalin was misunderstood.
Apparently he invented the bread knife jelly babies and dubstep

    2. Best stick to whether Jackie boy is good enough to go … he is … if we factor in extra judicial killings by uk gov ok and others in Syria and elsewhere then we may as well just cancel everything.,.ridicous

      1. To be honest, the only thing I find ridiculous is your comparison with the British government and Jeremy Corbyn’s communist friends.

  4. I thought you had to be good and consistent and of a certain level of fitness to play for England.
Wilshere has no business being at the World Cup.
    Assuming we will be there…
