Is Lucas Perez set to be Arsenal’s new left-winger?

Every Arsenal fan on here keeps going on about how we need a new left-winger before the transfer window closes, with Martins, Pavon, Bernard, Banega and Lozano all hyped as possible arrivals, but the fact is that we already have a very able player already on our books who has been proven to be able to work his magic on the wing for Arsenal.

Lucas Perez did not interest Arsene Wenger very much, but he is now back at the Gunners and has joined the opening training sessions of Unai Emery, who knows him very well from La Liga and may have a little more faith in his abilities than Wenger did, or perhaps Le Prof simply wasn’t happy that he wasn’t his choice.

But Perez is back, and ALL existing Arsenal players need to be given a chance to prove their worth, so why not Perez? He said goodbye to the Deportivo fans today and could only apologise for being part of the team that helped them get relegated. He said: I didn’t know how to address all of you, but I think it is necessary to say goodbye,”

“As with all Deportivo fans, these weeks have been very hard for me. I could never imagine that the relegation would happen.

“Neither the city nor the fans deserve this and I ask for forgiveness from anyone who has been disappointed with me. Things do not always work out the way you think, but if something is clear to me, I will never regret wearing your shirt.”

“I just have to thank all those people who believed in us until the last day,”

“Also the club, Deportivo, for allowing me to fulfill the dream of my life, and Arsenal, for always being sympathetic to me.”

So he has left his hometown club, and he has vast experience of London (and scoring goals).

Why shouldn’t he be given a chance to prove himself at Arsenal now that Wenger has gone?
