Arsenal’s most talented midfielder Mesut Ozil has had time off sick quite a few times this season and it would appear that he is set to miss the second leg of our Europa League tie against Ostersunds on Thursday as well.
And, according to Arsene Wenger, he will have to build his fitness up again before being certain to play in our League Cup Final against Man City on Sunday. Wenger said: ‘His immune system is in trouble and I don’t know why. We hope we can improve that medically. ‘He came back from Ostersund [where Arsenal won the first leg 3-0] on Thursday night, practised Friday and Saturday.
‘Since Monday, he was in bed. Today was the first session. ‘I would certainly have played him but because he was sick, he will have to work hard and he will not be involved against Ostersund. He should be OK for Sunday.’
This is the fourth time Ozil has suffered from undefinied ‘illnesses’ this season, and there are certain members of the Arsenal clan that are not completely convinced that the German is just feigning illness to spend more time with his new betrothed Amine Gulse, who he is set to wed in Turkey this summer after the World Cup is over.
Ozil himself didn’t help matters when he posted this pic on his Instagram on Monday, when he was supposed to be ‘in bed’.
So, I can quite believe Wenger when said Ozil was in bed. But with whom???

I will apply for sick leaves more often if I have a wife like that at home. Arsenal might think they have avoided the wrath of their fans by extending Ozil’s contract, but now they have to find a way to make him work harder.
I’m curious of what kind of players they would bring to pump Ozil’s motivation up next season
I think Wenger lies about his players. He is keeping him for Sunday because Mhki is not legible. But he refused to say that and lied. We didn’t know why he was keen for Aubameyang to start ahead of Lacazette until we hard he as undergone surgery! Am sure he would have kept Giroud if not because he wanted World Cup and he needed to be playing regularly.
Haha! He isn’t sick, never was before, and his Instagram pic clearly backs that up. Wenger’s just covering himself for not picking Ozil, and protecting his player, just in case we lose tonight. Would be easier if Wenger just said he wasn’t picking Ozil tonight, because there’s no need to, and we have a cup final on Sunday.

Wenger is clearly a very smart individual speaks 6 languages and successful and he is protectin g the player an as he isnt playing tonight and as for being in turkey he was probably given a day or two off we need days off to in this world say it to everyone and here come the ridicule police and maybe he shouldnt of made it public by his post but i think he will be more than ready and inspired to win the cup

He’s on holiday in Turkey, get over it. But he might also be ill now even though he’s posted the picture above. We all need a break sometimes and his stats from previous years show he slows at this time. Some will say he’s pampered but tonight’s game is hardly a problem but he is definitely needed for the league cup final as Ramsey and a Mikki won’t be available. Let’s hope just Mikki gets his spurs debacle out of his system tonight. Hopefully also Eddy gets his chance tonight.
