Is Ramsey on Arsenal right bad for Bellerin?

The Arsenal and Spain international defender Hector Bellerin had arguably his least effective game of the season for the Gunners in our hard fought but disappointing draw away with Premier League strugglers Norwich City. While there are various reasons for Arsenal getting just a point from the game, with our injury problems and the home side’s commitment and desire two big aspects, I wanted to look at why Bellerin struggled to get into the game.

The young Spaniard is normally well involved in most of the Arsenal attacks but had very little influence against Norwich and I think it may have been because the boss had brought back Aaron Ramsey to start in front of him. I do not want to be too harsh on the Welshman as he is just back from an injury lay-off and has proved his worth many times in the past.

However, I think the manager needs to have a word with him about his role when playing on the right. Bellerin is a great player for helping out, making overlaps and causing all sorts of problems on that flank but he cannot do this on his own.

Every time I notcied Ramsey he was in the centre of the pitch. Now I) know that he prefers to play there but we already have Cazorla, Flamini and Ozil in there and Ramsey must have more discipline when asked to do that job. When Campbell and the Ox came onto the right they began to link up with the Spaniard and we started to look a threat again.

Is this why Bellerin had such a tough game at the weekend?
