Is the under-fire Inter striker wanted at Arsenal?

Mauro Icardi has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent seasons, but the drama that surrounds him is rather off-putting.

The Inter Milan star is set to be stripped of his captaincy, having fallen out of favour with the club’s Ultras, and is now the subject of anger from the supporters.

Vice-president and club legend Javier Zanetti has moved to slam the striker’s actions, having released a new autobiography in recent weeks which slates the Inter Ultras, and claims to have stood up to a section of the club’s support.

He has since moved to apologise for his comments, whilst admitting to having exaggerated the incident, but his relationship with the club and its fans looks as if the apology will do little to make amends.

He is now being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium once again, and with Lucas Perez yet to stake a claim for a first-team role, we could well be in the market for another striker.

The Inter captain has proven to be a consistent goalscorer for his side, scoring 53 goals in his 99 Serie A outings, but wold the drama surround him be detrimental to our dressing room?

Icardi is only 23 years-old, and in apologising may well show that he will learn a lesson from the torrid situation in Italy, but that doesn’t mean he is mature enough to face the challenge of trying to break into our first-team, should we make a move for his signature.

Chelsea and Manchester City have also been linked with the forward in recent years, but will his recent actions hamper a move to a big club? Should we still consider his signature?

  1. As much as I wanted us to get a Top striker or winger this summer, I am glad we didn’t pay ridiculous money for one.

Looking at how Alexis, Theo and Iwobi are playing (plus, Giroud and Perez on the bench) we could have enough to win the Title and more than 1 trophy this season

Well done Liverpool by denying United 2 more points lol
But not the first time Mourinho has parked the bus. LoL

    1. @Arsenal_Girl
It looked as though Uniteds attacking was dull. Liverpool’s problem, was they kept trying like us, to thread the ball through a boatload of defenders…LOL
      Otherwise, they looked lethal…

      1. United’s attack looked dull because they were told to park the bus, and wait for a lucky counter. Sad they pay 100mill for Pogba to use him as a CDM, even in an advanced position. To our benefit though, draw works in our favor. Not looking forward to that bus when it comes to Emirates though.

  2. if we must add to this team now, it has to be someone special.
we don’t need Icardi…. we could do with a pacey, skillful, tall, creative, scorer on the leftwing as thatz what it ll take to bench Iwobi.
Icardi is not even a leftwinger.
Griezmann yea but he isn’t so skillful.
Reus would be perfect but he is always injured.
Neymar— no chance, too xpensive, wonnt wanna leave Barca.
    .
so no new signings for the offense

  3. The team is okay for now. The main challenge is how to integrate Perez into the first team. We haven’t even really seen what he can do 🙁

  4. Can’t think of anyone who we need to immediately buy in Jan. Besides for some random youngster, I doubt we’ll be purchasing anyone.

  5. I doubt this guy will ever play for Arsenal, seems like he could disrupt the dressing room, and TBH the guy seems like a real POS.

    – Stole his ex team mates wife who he had kids with
    – Seemingly exaggerating (fabricating?) stories
    – Threatening his own teams fans?

Wasn’t this the guy who was meeting all these different clubs based on a promise Inter hadn’t forfilled and then ends up getting what he wants and puts out a controversial autobiography?

Pity tho, seems like a decent striker and he is Argentinian but he’s too high risk low reward for Wenger, not to mention he would cost a fortune.

  6. Icardi is a great striker in the making, if we can get him we should try. At 23 he has a long career ahead of him. If Sanchez doesn’t sign a new contract we will be left with Perez and Giroud next season.
