Is the under-fire Inter striker wanted at Arsenal?

Mauro Icardi has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent seasons, but the drama that surrounds him is rather off-putting.

The Inter Milan star is set to be stripped of his captaincy, having fallen out of favour with the club’s Ultras, and is now the subject of anger from the supporters.

Vice-president and club legend Javier Zanetti has moved to slam the striker’s actions, having released a new autobiography in recent weeks which slates the Inter Ultras, and claims to have stood up to a section of the club’s support.

He has since moved to apologise for his comments, whilst admitting to having exaggerated the incident, but his relationship with the club and its fans looks as if the apology will do little to make amends.

He is now being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium once again, and with Lucas Perez yet to stake a claim for a first-team role, we could well be in the market for another striker.

The Inter captain has proven to be a consistent goalscorer for his side, scoring 53 goals in his 99 Serie A outings, but wold the drama surround him be detrimental to our dressing room?

Icardi is only 23 years-old, and in apologising may well show that he will learn a lesson from the torrid situation in Italy, but that doesn’t mean he is mature enough to face the challenge of trying to break into our first-team, should we make a move for his signature.

Chelsea and Manchester City have also been linked with the forward in recent years, but will his recent actions hamper a move to a big club? Should we still consider his signature?
