Is this Arsenal target able to replace Alexis Sanchez?

Arsenal are being linked with a move to sign Goncalo Guedes from Paris Saint-Germain next summer, and are believed to be confident of striking a deal.

The Portuguese winger was linked with a move to the Emirates prior to his move to the French giants in January, and he has already fallen down the pecking order with his side.

PSG made the bold move to bring in Kylian Mbappe and Neymar for world record fees this summer, putting Guedes out of Unai Emery’s first-team plans.

The 21 year-old was sent out on loan to Valencia where he has so far helped his side to keep to within five points of Barcelona, and his three goals and five assists thus far have helped them keep within touching distance of the league leaders.

He is believed to be likely to become available for transfer next summer, with such talents currently in his parent club, and we are believed to be confident of striking a deal.

Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are both expected to leave the club at the end of the campaign when their contracts run out. There is talk that the latter may potentially sign a new deal, but that remains a huge outside shot.

Guedes PSG team-mate Julian Draxler has also been linked as a potential replacement, although but the speculation regarding his future is very mixed.

Could Guedes be the long-term replacement for Alexis Sanchez? Is Goncalo any better than Iwobi?

  1. Saw him played against Barcelona. He can dribble very quickly, maybe because he is still very young, but he is not as talented as Mbappe.

He would have difficulties in getting a first team spot at PSG. His passes are good, but his playmaking ability is not as good as Sanchez’s, because he has never played with Barcelona’s football level.

His movements remind me of Jose Antonio Reyes, but I think Arsenal need more creative and skillful playmaker to replace Sanchez. I prefer Barcelona’s attacking players, because they have been learning directly from Messi and Iniesta, such as Rafinha, Sergi Roberto, Denis Suarez, etc.

    1. Which Alexis playmaking abilities are you talking about? The ones where he constantly loses the ball? He lost 32 out of 34 on Sunday. Whoever this kid from PSG is, I’ll take him over Sanchez right now in a heartbeat.

      1. Dead right Vlad,
Sanchez was poor enough Sunday, constantly losing the ball and doing useless lobs into the Saints penalty area, I don’t understand what he expected the other players to do with those useless lobs !!!!

  2. Typical Arsenal, instead of buying a world class player to replace Sanchez theyll but rejects for low cash. I seriously hope they buy someone like Seri or Draxler to replace Sanchez

    1. Rejects??
Sanchez himself was a reject from Barca…
So does Thierry Henry was a reject from Juve..
So does Berkamp was a reject from Inter…

      1. Utter nonsense about Henry and Bergkamp being rejects. Bergkamp waa an established world star and Henry had playein th French world cup winning side in 1998. Sanchez, I would allow, at a pinch.

  3. despite his assist for Giroud this weekend, i think we should sell Sanchez during the break. he has been a headless chicken the 5 last game and stop defending like he used to. Not sure he is really contributing to the team anymore. Feels like his mind is already in Man city.

    1. The way he plays at the moment, there’s no way he’s getting into this City side. People were making fun and slaying Ozil left and right, yet right now he’s got the bigger value IMHO. If the rumors are true, Barca, Chelsea, and United are all after Ozil. Who wants Alexis?

  4. Guedes is the real deal, I have watched him play more than once, and am not talking about YouTube, he’s fast, skillful and can finish, I will be happy if we get him..

  5. I Dont Know Why Wenger Does Nt Cash On This Stupid And Selfish Alexis, He Also Contribute To Arsenal Downfall This Season, Concerning His Replacement I Will Prefer Iwobi For Now If We Cant Find Word Class Winger,
