It cannot be ignored that Arsenal are in far better shape than Tottenham

There is huge risk in being overconfident but sometimes it is justified and on this occasion, I feel that Arsenal fans have every right to be confident of victory over Tottenham on Sunday at the Emirates.

There are clear issues at Spurs, the team does not have a united feel about it, they were fortunate to beat Aston Villa, got smashed against Man City and even now I have no idea how they scraped a draw and even though they dominated against Newcastle they had very few chances and the loss was not that much of a surprise.

They are not the team they were just a few months ago, certainly not at this stage and if any of you remember the build-up to the game at the Emirates last season it was Arsenal that was the underdogs and they still won 4-2 and deservedly so.

Arsenal have strengthened significantly, they opened up with two deserved wins and for the first half at Anfield matched Liverpool, they were not rolled over and did not retreat into themselves as they have done previously.

The stronger team right now is Arsenal, the more united team right now is Arsenal, the more exciting team is Arsenal, literally, everything about Arsenal is better than Spurs at this moment in time.

What I am saying is that right now, right at this minute in time Arsenal are in far better shape than Tottenham and I will be honest, I will be stunned if we do not beat them on Sunday.

And once that happens, North London will once again be red and I am certain it will remain that way for the rest of the season.

    Means nothing in a Derby
    Always tough.
We have strengthened but Spurs players have played together longer. Ceballos, Pepe, Luiz are still trying to gel with the team.

We should have belief that we can win but not overconfidence

  2. 06fan says:

It means nothing in a derby but I expect the boy to be up for it because it’s the Emirates and the the crowd will be buzzing! How I wish i was at the could be at the stadium to cheer up the team but unfortunately I can’t cuz i don’t live in London ☹️ Anyways good Luck to the boiz on Sunday. COYG!

    1. Loose Cannon says:

Which boy? Ozil I hope. Trust Unai to get the selection right this time and shelves his ultra defensive style of play which begins with play from the back. Ndombele will not be playing, looking forward to the 3 points. Come on Unai!

Subpar article once again admin martin! Let me know when one of konstantin’s article is posted or the OG ADMIN’s. This is not a personal vendetta, it’s just that i’m too attached to this site not to care since i’ve been coming here for a very long time. Try to do better!

    1. Kenyanfan says:

No offense but was also feeling the same. Hope the admin can take it positively and do something.

  4. S.J says:

Again with the right selection and formation we can beat almost every team on our day. It’s our home so I am expecting nothing less than a win or draw.
    My team selection will be.

    Aubameyang.. Lacazette.. Pépé

    Ceballos.. Torreira.. Guendouzi

    Monreal.. Luiz.. Sokratis.. A. M-Niles

Emery,s love for Xhaka and new love for young talented Willock might see a change in midfield and I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t start PAL from the start citing Lacazette precautionary injury

  5. Sue says:

All of this we’re in better shape, goes out the window!!
It’s a derby, neither team will need reminding of how important it is! They’ll be up for it just as much as we are!
Obviously i want us to win, play well & score loads!! Kane always scores against us… Son & Kane like a dive (thank heavens for var!! ?)
I’m not getting ahead of myself.. just going to wait and see who is picked, watch the game and if we do end up victorious (?) i will then proceed to shout it from the rooftops that NL is red….. COYG

    1. Welbeck says:

The better looking half of North London is definitely red! Based on where their stadium is situated, I would rather live near Highbury.

  6. Sande Banard says:

    With a good lineup I hope w’ll beat spurs…

  7. Welbeck says:

Sounds like you’re jinxing us with that ‘Arsenal are better’ hyperbole AdMar. Form went out of the window when we beat them last time round where the pundits expected a loss.

At this moment, Spurs are more likely to finish above us if the current trends continue. They’re a better run club with a likeable manager, but they’re not as successful as we have been. That’s the main difference.

    1. Admin Martin says:

If we cannot do hyperbole on the eve of the NLD when can we?

      1. jon fox says:

Never! If you value truth anyway! Hype and truth are opposites, Martin.
