There have been many arguments between Arsenal fans as to whether we should have allowed Aaron Ramsey to leave the Emirates on a free transfer at the end of this season. One of the ongoing statements was that (like Jack Wilshere) Aaron spent too much time in the treatment room to warrant a massive pay rise, and the fact that he has only averaged around 25 games per season in his time here (and only 4 goals a season) seems to bear that theory out.
The Welshman has only started 14 League games in this campaign as well, and it looks like he won’t be pulling on the famous Red & White again after he limped off the pitch against Napoli last night. Emery was not confident he would return to the squad when he said after the game: “He was in a very good moment, he was playing with a big behaviour and commitment to do something important for us.
“His injury today can give us some matches without him. I don’t know if we’ll see him again before the end of the season.”
Aaron may not have always been available but he has given us some excellent performances in the past and even this season after knowing he as in his last six months here. Even though he may not play for Arsenal again, let us all hope that he recovers well and wish him luck in his new start at Juventus next year…

On the contrary, I’m eager to see his replacement. Because the new CM could be one of our youngsters or a new midfielder and he might have a completely different playing style

I wish Ramsey good luck. I have been impressed with how he has worked for the team recently. It is almost as if his coming departure has motivated him to show Arsenal, that it will be a big loss.
But I am not so sure. First of all, because the actual number of games he plays, and plays well, are very limited. Secondly, although he does have his moments, his overall lack of organization has also been very costly for years.
So i really don’t see us being very weakened without him.
Good luck to him at Juve, and maybe the fewer games in Italy and the less physical demands there, will make his less vulnerable to injuries.
Admin, Arsenal did not “allow” Aaron Ramsey to leave. He had a contract in front of him and his manager for a considerable time, which he refused to sign. He has wangled a move to Juventus on a free transfer; however not withstanding he has continued to be professional and contribute when called upon. I am disappointed in him suffering injury, because his injury reduces Emery’s player options.
Well they took the offer off the table “allowing” him to leave for free. So yes, they did.

Ramsey made his choice; money over the badge. Over 100k per week wasn’t enough for him, he want triple that.
It’s his right of course, but I won’t mourn the loss. There are better out there with discipline in the midfield. Wish him the best tho, but not like we’ll implode with him leaving. Badge over bank accounts, team first for me.
Tony Adams said he’d sign a contract if they put it in front of him. That’s one reason he’s Mr. Arsenal and beloved.
I don’t disagree with a word you’ve said. I’m just saying the fact remains Arsenal pulled the contract and did technically allow him to leave for free. Right decision, but this is still the clubs mess for ever allowing it to get to the stage where a valuable asset to go for free.(whether you rate him highly or not, other teams would pay good money for him)
Arsenal continuously put themselves in situations that allow them to get abused by Ramsey/Ozil/Sanchez etc. I don’t know if it all came down to AW and Gazidis but the management was horrible and we have lost so much money between just the three of those players. All of them should’ve been sold and Emery should be able to rebuild this team with all of that cash he could’ve had. We are leaking money with how much Ozil gets paid (and Miki).

RSH, on the contrary! He refused to sign a most generous offer through pure greed and finally had his bluff called when a more pro-active regime than before, which we now, thankfully, have in charge, decided they had had quite enough of an in and out , plus very injury prone player, trying to hold the club to ransom and he will be the loser in playing time, though not financially. I suppose ones view comes down to whether or not you believe already highly paid multi millionaires should or SHOULD NOT abuse the decade long loyalty Arsenal had shown to this self overrated AND injury prone player. I must assume you believe they SHOULD abuse the club. Thankfully most do not agree!
