It would be a huge mistake for Arsenal to underestimate Sheffield United

Sheffield United have already shown the big boys they are dangerous opponents

If we did not know it before, we know it now. No Premier League game is a walkover, home or away.

Norwich City and Wolves against Man City, Newcastle and Brighton v Tottenham, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle against Man Utd and Sheffield United at Chelsea have all shown that any team on any day can get a result against any of the top-six. Well, apart from against Liverpool that is.

This season Sheffield United have come from 2-0 down at Chelsea to draw 2-2 and they beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park. They have also had good draws with Bournemouth, Watford and beaten Crystal Palace.

If Arsenal plays to their very best then they will win but any drop off in performances and Sheff Utd will pounce. The top clubs cannot step off the gas against so-called inferior teams.

The Blades will be well-drilled, they will target the weak areas, they will look to counter-attack and play hard football. Nothing Arsenal is not used to but the sort of tactics that have ruffled Unai Emery’s feathers previously.

One good thing is that Emery will probably be attack-minded, which serves Arsenal better. If it was a top-six opponent then the Spaniard would be conservative and that does not suit Arsenal.

A lot will depend on team line-ups. But even then, as long as Arsenal cut out the mistakes, play to their own strengths and not the strengths of their opponents then three points are there for the taking. Underestimate Sheffield United in any way and lose focus and concentration and it will be a loss of points.

  1. They lost to Liverpool by just one goal
    Sheffield 0-1 Liverpool

I will be delighted with any scoreline WIN

  2. Guedouy making the final list of the Golden boy nomination says a lot about the boy. Sadly and honestly the player getting the award rightfully will be Jadon Sancho. Any other player will be a crime.
If not for Sancho, Guendouzi would definitely be in the top two TBH.
I don’t buy the hype around Felix, Guendouzi done show up in the EPL with much pressure right from the start of last season, meanwhile Felix started getting recognition midway through last season. The only reason the boy is being overhyped is because Atletico Madrid decided to be stupid enough to pay such amount for that kid.
    Sancho or Guendouzi it is

  3. Unai Emery “The Tinker Man” is the problem; should play the players in their natural established positions and Stop Tinkering round. Xhaka should Not play, as he is too slow and Arsenal Needs to play a fast “one touch” forward passing to the feet and “High Press” & “High Energy” game with Plenty of service to the Front Attack Force of Aubameyang, Lacazette and Pepe. Torreira should play his established position; No.6 and Ceballos ; No.8 and neither one should be “Tinkered” as a No.10. Either Ozil or Willock should be used as a No.10.

If both Tierney and Bellerin are played then a 3. 5. 2 formation will be best as both Tierney and Bellerin are Wing Backs with extreme pace and stamina who can Run up and Down the flanks to change formation when in Attack and to Defence. With proper service to the Front Attack Force, Arsenal should Win 3- 1.

  4. Every team Sheff U have played so far this season have expected to come away with 3 points. The only team that deserved to was probably Leicester, all others have been lucky to come away with anything. Arsenal will be lucky to come away with a single point, SU wingbacks will dominate and centrebacks manage your foreword line easily.

  5. Whatever line up, as long as the three points are delivered. I don’t think they can match us as long as our boys put their minds to winning the game.

I just hope Pepe scores and Auba continues his streak.
