It’s empowering as a Gooner to think that Arsenal could be on the verge of winning back-to-back Premier League titles come the end of the season.
It’s early days, but even Arsenal-critical Sky Sports commentator and Manchester United legend Gary Neville thinks the league double could be achieved too. That says a lot. Not that anyone can predict the future, but the table, our position and the momentum are already heading in that direction.
To some extent, as they say, “nothing is impossible”, and in football we have seen that many times over. Sheffield Wednesday knocked Arsenal out of the League Cup 3-0 over ten years ago in the early stages of the tournament, while Nottingham Forest, then of the Championship, shockingly thrashed us 4-2 in the 2018 FA Cup third round.
I shall say no more!
On the more optimistic side, let’s not forget that the one and only Arsenal pulled off a miraculous 38-game unbeaten Premier League run in 2003/04.
So who’s to say the best team in North London can’t win two consecutive Premier League titles?
Arteta has the chance to make Arsenal history
Arsène Wenger might never have achieved that, and the only manager to win back-to-back titles in N5 was Herbert Chapman 90 years ago, before The Arsenal eventually completed their only hat-trick of league titles in 1935 under George Allison, who took over following the original footballing pioneer’s death a year beforehand.
However, Mikel Arteta still has time to override that slightly melancholy footballing fact.
When we think of Arsenal, we tend to think of the sunnier, successful moments, such as the 14 league titles and 14 FA Cups which our precious Gunners have claimed across their almost 140-year history.
If Arsenal could win a second title in two years come May next year, it would be impeccable and, to some extent, make up for the three near title misses during the early 2020s, which were heartbreaking to witness and traumatising in a football sense.
Could back-to-back titles create an Arsenal dynasty?
Arteta would then cement himself as an Arsenal legend by winning two titles on the trot and show that he had created an all-conquering dynasty in North London, rather than a solo-season one-off as some wrongly dub us, after we also reached the Champions League final despite defeat.
Like with everything, time will tell if Arsenal and Arteta can bring the Premier League title back to the Emirates for a second year on the bounce.

I get a bit irritated by the term “dynasty” and how much it gets thrown around with regards to the EPL, I’ll admit. “Dynasty” is borrowed from American sports, baseball historically, but now all of them. A dynasty in US sports basically requires several titles (at least 3-4) and a prolonged period of success at the top over 5-10 years. So I think it’s kind of silly and arrogant to call where we’re at if we win another title this season a “dynasty” already… I might find it *slightly* more tolerable if we win three of the next four 🙂
I hope in the coming 5-6 years we win enough to fit your definition of dynasty
Could be great if we win it back to back even better making it three… Finishing second three in a raw and winning three in a raw.! After that will be dream land if Arteta beats peps record. Well maybe am going too far ahead I’ll just enjoy the wins as they come, week after week, year on year. Wont be getting ahead of myself

Winning back to back is not the only target. Arsenal compete on 4 fronts. Winning all meaning doing the unprecedented QUADRUPLE is a possibility. Winning them UNBEATEN is also. We’re too close last term in the UCL to win unbeaten. Records are here to be broken. There exists now plenty of feel good factors.
Yes, but we won’t be able to win EPL with Tzolis alone on the left wing. I hope Martinelli will make a decision soon, so Arsenal can replace or reintegrate him ASAP
This is why ArteBerta are ready to splash the cash on Alvarez who can also play LW. Arsenal hierarchy love signing versatile players as we saw with Konsa and many other players except Raya
Yes. One of the appealing aspects of Alvarez is his versatility, but I think he can’t reach the byline through the left wing as good as Martinelli does
I’d be very surprised if he joins Arsenal. Moise Kean is also able to play both CF/ LW roles, pacier, stronger, better in the air and way cheaper
Too many people on here and most of the pundits tipping us for a repeat title win with apparently no other team out there to touch us are getting somewhat ahead of themselves. We’ve played one game and ok it was a good win but it was Coventry at our place (which was really rocking by the way) and I think a few more games in and then start dreaming. Villa away, Chelsea at home, Sunderland away, Three tests there, even though Villa got battered, Chelsea are dark horses and Sunderland is up t’north🤷♂️.
That would be awesome.

If we can avoid many serious injuries and MA tactics are on point, we have a great shot.
Also the next week is very important for the left wing position and attack in general
If we sell Martinelli then we must get another quality forward.
If we don’t get another attacker then we must keep Martinelli and hope he and Tzolis can be efficient and good enough on the left wing.
Anyway, we’ve started on the right track with an opening win. Long may it continue
It can be done. Our new signings have never won it and will be hungry for it. For someone like Bruno,and even Konsa,it’s their first chance to win the big trophies – their hunger should light the fire in the belly of their new teammates.
We also have lots of players who won it last season but have a lot to prove. Players like Saka,Ødegaard,Havertz and Myles were not as influential in us winning as they would like.They would want to win it in a season in which they are influential throughout the season.
That hunger,in addition to the quality we possess,should put us at an advantage. That is not to say it will be easy; it never is in the Premier League.
Konsa won Europa League and Bruno Carabao Cup after beating Pep’s City. I don’t know if they’re treated as smaller
They haven’t won the Prem. I’m sure it’s part of the reason they joined Arsenal.
I take what pundits say with a pinch of salt. They can predict what they like. If Arsenal were to fail, these same pundits would declare open season on them.
They’re doing what the papers have been guilty of for years, and that’s build them up to gleefully shoot them down.
It would be nice to think we can go back to back League titles, but there’s along way to go. And country to what people think regarding who can stop us, they’re are threats out there. Who they are will become clear as the season develops.
I prefer not to write-off the other fancied sides. Underestimate them at you’re peril is what I say.

But alvarez is an hybrid winger that plays primarily at CF so I’m not sure if signing him will be good idea.
Coz we need a top winger that his final ball is as good as tzolis’ and much skillful dribbler than tzolis

If Arsenal have to buy only one player, I prefer to signing Alvarez to a dedicated LW because of Alvarez’s dual roles. Beside Tzolis players like Eze and Madueke are options in the LW
Generally, I saw last season as the ultimate test for MA to see if he could bring together so many new pieces into a cohesive unit quickly enough to take us over the line and win the title. I see this season as the real test of the players’ mentality in earning the title again and even excel further in the other cup competitions.
Back to back would be an incredible achievement and combined with the 3 2nd places would mean 5 seasons in a row competing for the league. The consistency needed to do that is huge.
