It’s virtually impossible for Freddie to change anything right now claims Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry also hails Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s impact and looks forward to Brighton game.

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry believes that Arsenal would probably be worse off if not for the goals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He also believes it is far too early to judge Freddie Ljungberg.

The Gunners have struggled this season and they sit 10th on the league table ahead of their game with Brighton.

They fired Unai Emery last week and made Ljungberg their new manager on an interim basis.

Ljungberg’s first game came just two days after they named him as the team’s manager and Henry believes that he shouldn’t be judged on that one game as he didn’t have enough time to pass his ideas on to the players.

Henry also took out time to hail the impact of Aubameyang who has netted 12 times for the Gunners this season.
Speaking ahead of their match against Brighton, Henry said as per goal.com:

“Well I think what we’ve seen so far, it’s very difficult to change anything in, I think he had one session, or two maybe [ahead of the Canaries clash].

“It’s virtually impossible to change anything. And what we saw is what I’ve seen before.

“[Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang scored two goals and we escaped – when I say ‘we’ you know why.

“But that’s what I saw, you know, without the goals of Aubameyang I don’t know where we would have been right now.

“So it’s interesting to see how we are going to play against Brighton, and see what Freddie is about.

“Because that game [against Norwich] was very difficult to see what was happening really.”

There is a 10-points gap between Arsenal and Chelsea, who are occupying the last Champions League spot and fans will hope they can get back to winning ways against the Seagulls and close that gap.

  1. I predict Arsenal would dominate the ball possession again tonight

Pepe and Martinelli would benefit a lot from the slower tempo and the shorter distance between the players, if they start as inverted wingers tonight

    1. If you’ve seen the training videos, I’m hopeful we go back to the quick fire one and two touch passes instead of the slow tempo we’ve we’ve seen lately. Feel the need for speed….

  2. I disagree, Freddie needs to be seen to change things about. If not we will get the same results. Things have to change and change very quickly, like now!

  3. We need to get off to a good start tonight to settle the back line and defensive midfield pairing.
2-0 at half time will be great! Then the defence should aim for that much needed clean sheet. If the attack can enjoy themselves and add a third or more,it will be job done!!

  4. Truth be told we are short of the requirements to effectively compete
    from what I have seen&I agree with T.H 100%.
We lack in depth & quality compared to other teams.Bearing in mind that we do not operate in a vacuum we will still struggle until we beef up this squad.
As long as we still depend on our rookies as we do now,we will keep struggling but I hope it doesn’t get worse.
For now it may force the manager to think outside the box &even field guys out of position in order to grind results which is so difficult that’s why we have never won match since October. So disheartening but we should keep believing and hope that something will be done soon.

  5. I think we need to bring in Thierry to the coaching staff. While I love Freddie I worry that our position currently in the league and as a club means so much more pressure. A steady head to quietly sort of the team and support the new structure is where I believe we need to focus. Why is Rafa Benitez not supported in the main as our next manager? A couple of years with him at the helm will push us back into improvement, play some good football and keep it simple on and off the pitch. Am I wrong?
