Jack Wilshere leaving Arsenal – To Crystal Palace or West Ham?

This must be one of the longest ever will-he/won’t-he sagas in Arsenal’s history as the question of whether Jack Wilshere will still be playing for us next season has been rumbling from before the beginning of last season.

But it now seems very clear that he has decided to leave after talking to Unai Emery and not being given assurances about playing time next season. Jack then posted this on Instagram….

That seems pretty clear, and it has now emerged that Crystal Palace are the new favourites to sign him as he has always been admired by Roy Hodgson, although most pundits have been predicting a move to West Ham. In fact Paul Mariner thinks that it would be good for him to leave Arsenal. “He needs to get a new challenge, it’s too comfortable at Arsenal,” Mariner told ESPN. “I think if he goes to West Ham, they will ask some serious questions, new manager in there.

“I’d like to see Jack going, I’d like to see him go to a new club. I think at West Ham they’re in a bit of a rebuild phase, new manager comes in. Get yourself out there Jack and show everybody what you’ve got.

“It seems to me that he’s been waiting for some negotiations to speak to the new manager about his contract. It seemingly has not been forthcoming. Would this be a good move? I’ve said on ESPN FC for a long, long time that he needs a change of scenery.”

To be honest, if Ramsey stays and with the new competition from Maitland-Niles who has been praised by Emery, then I can’t see Wilshere getting much game time at all except back in the Europa League side. And I can’t see him being happy with that.

So should he go with Pellegrini at the Hammers or work under Roy Hodgson at the Palace?
