Is Jack Wilshere running out of time?

The Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has not played even one competitive game this season after he was cruelly injured the day before the Gunners played Chelsea in the Community Shield, but he is now finally getting back to fitness and played an hour of an U21 match last night. Although he may be too late to have an effect on Arsenal’s title race, he is still keen to get ready to play in the Euros with England.

“That is the aim,” he said last night: . “I have said before I want to go to the Euros and I know that I have to get back into the Arsenal team. I have to persuade the England manager and Arsène Wenger that I should play.

“I felt good. It is nice to be back at Emirates Stadium and play my first game. I know that I’m not there yet, not quite ready to play in the first team but it is another step closer to my fitness.

“You can train as much as you want, but the toughest thing is getting competition ready with the players and this all helps.”

After today’s game, Arsenal have just six Premier League games to play, and Arsene Wenger has already said that he is not inclined to change a winning side, so it is going to be very difficult for Jack Wilshere to get any competitive time on the pitch and prove his fitness to Roy Hodgson. If Arsenal had nothing to play for then I am sure that Wenger would ease Jack back into the team, but Wilshere himself has admitted he is not even ready yet so will the end of the season come too soon for Jack to rove himself?
