Juventus set to snatch very promising Arsenal striker

Arsenal used to be renowned for training their youngsters in the Arsenal way and then integrating them seamlessly into the Gunners first team, but lately there are more and more of our promising youngsters moving abroad to lesser teams where at least they can get a chance at the the first team. Most of them seem to move to Belgian orDutch sides lately, but Stephy Mavdidi must be extra promising, as he has been snapped up by Juventus!

SkySports reported it like this…..

Juventus are closing in on a deal to sign Arsenal striker Stephy Mavididi, according to Sky sources.

It is understood the deal for the 20-year-old could be completed in the next 24 hours with the player having flown to Italy to undergo a medical.

Mavididi, who has never made a senior appearance for Arsenal, has previously spent time on loan at Charlton and Preston.

He has represented England at U17, U18, U19 and U20 level. Mavididi joined Arsenal as a youth player and turned professional with the north London club in July 2015.

Juventus have followed suit of most top clubs in buying up promising talent and they will have a reserve team starting in Serie C this season. And although Mavdidi is a very promising striker indeed, what are the chances of him getting first team games? He not only has Aubameyang, Lacazette and Welbeck ahead of him, he also has Nketiah who is the most likely to be promoted right now.

  1. Insert a buy back close or we should be the first option should they want to sell him.

Juve have an eye for talent especially in recent years. I suspect Eddie is showing more promise and ahead of him but you never know with these young players, some are late boomers.

  2. After McGuane went to Barcelona, now Mavdidi got snatched by Juventus. Luckily Maitland-Niles, Nelson and Smith-Rowe have signed new contracts

Arsenal need to snatch Odoi and Rashford

  3. This is a loss, we have no-one who can play very wide Mavididi could’ve done that. He has great a turn of pace and control for someone so quick, he’s one of the quickest players to come out of our academy in a long time. Welbz should’ve been moved on with this lad getting more game time. He and Nketiah would give a great injection of youth to our attack. Then Nelson and Smith. Juventus have been following him for years, and Juve do their homework they are good at spotting exciting young players. I like Mavididi, he was one of my picks to make the next step but amazed he never got a real shot.

  4. Sorry if this has already been mentioned on here & I missed it…. but I just read that the day after the City loss we had a behind closed doors friendly against Crystal Palace…. we won 4-0??

      1. Not sure Kenny…. just said that Palace’s line up was the guys who didn’t make their team on Saturday. Can’t find out who scored…. who played for us….

        1. You people make me laugh when you talk about “binning” players. Do you think Arsenal has the transfer budget to “bin” players as they like? Good players cost significant sums of money now. It’s the reason you would sign Guendozi while Chelsea signs Jorginho, Man United Fred, and Liverpool Keita and Fabinho.

The last 10 years haven’t taught you anything because you think it was all down to one man. Under Emery same players you think will be “binned” have received new contracts.

Emery has a budget and would only work within its limits. That limit means cheap transfers that would hardly be better than players already in the club, like the ones signed this summer.

          1. Jon they defend Arsene and troll Arsenal. Not sure who they support; club or ex manager going by the comments on other threads.

    1. Heard that too, never thought something so crazy would make me so happy. I’m telling you with Emery’s mindset the remaining average players will be found out and binned in no time. It’s time for The Arsenal to move forward…

      1. When i saw how we played against City i could swear that he did a Wenger on us. Playing our players out of poz and not to our strengths made me worry a lot. If Emery is about to truly build the team around Ramsey than goodnight and close the door plz as we wont be going anywhere with this.

  5. To bad no ones snatched Iwobi from us 😛 Due of the Iwobis i am not concerned about our youngs being snatched and moving away. We hype our young way to much and way to early. The best way for youngsters to make a name for them selfs is moving outside the leauge. Good luck to this kid.

  6. I think with the limited bank balance we have developing top quality young players is essential therefore this is something of a loss.
I am looking forward to seeing Nketiah and Reiss Nelson coming though and a few other promising young players. The ideal situation would be a mix of top class talent and excellent young players coming through. It is always more satisfying to see a talented young player coming through and becoming a world class player – like Fabregas.
I hope we are a lot more mindful in the future and stop teams poaching our best young players..

  7. The most promising young player in our squad has to be AMN. What can’t this boy do? Am really gutted we lost him to injury
