Forget the rumours of any Arsenal exodus this summer

Mesut Ozil is the latest Gunner to rubbish speculation linking him with an exit from Arsenal. The German international has been one of the key players for us this season, directly playing a part in 23 of our 48 league goals.

Barcelona had been linked with making an attempt to bring him back to Spain, but despite our club’s dismal season, the midfielder has no interest in a move. Ozil said: ‘My future? I’m only focused on Arsenal. There’s no truth in rumours linking me with a return to Spain’.

Obviously we had no doubt that he would be staying, as we are no longer a selling club. The Emirates is practically fully paid off now, and there is no need to sell, not unless we want to.

Hector Bellerin has also ruled out an exit, with a number of big European clubs claimed to be keen, with our players only interested in helping return Arsenal to the top of the table.

Three players who will be leaving are Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky, so there will no doubt be players coming in during the upcoming window.

The papers are eager to get their stories out there, but lets just ignore any of the outgoing fabrications for the time being.

In retrospect, all the distractions from the pressure of trying to chase down an unlikely Premier League title win could be positive.

Jose Mourinho is a big fan of being a distraction, which seems to do its trick on occasion, and with us so far behind at present, it could be good to just get back to playing football again.

A favourable set of results for us this weekend may even quieten the #WengerOut brigade, and with Tottenham travelling to Liverpool that is a strong possibility.

If Mesut Ozil and a number of our favourite players are all sticking with the manager, and can see the positive in what he has done and is doing, then maybe the fans should get back to supporting the club also.

Is it possible for Ozil to do better next year? More of the same again will more than suffice!
