Koscielny injury means Chambers’ cards could cost Arsenal dear!!

When the Arsenal and England defender Calum Chambers picked up his fifth Premier League yellow card of the season, from just five starts and two sub appearances by the way, it did not look like it would cause the Gunners too much of a headache.

Our next league game being against Hull City at the Emirates stadium, it might even have been a good time to give the more attack minded young Spaniard Hector Bellerin another chance anyway, while the former Southampton player served his suspension.

However, it would also leave us very stretched at centre back, which now looks like it could be a big problem for Arsene Wenger now that the France international Laurent Koscielny was sent home from international duty because of an Achilles problem. According to a Mirror report, Wenger is confident that his first choice centre back will be available for the Hull clash but how often have we heard optimistic injury updates which have later been changed?

This injury situation is getting beyond a joke for Arsenal and if Koscielny does not recover in time, with Chambers ruled out we will have to turn to the Spanish left back Nacho Monreal, just back from injury himself, or young Isaac Hayden from the academy. Not ideal, Gooners!

Hull might not be the strongest of sides but they are no mugs and we do not want two inexperienced lads from the academy in the back four to face them. Can you believe that Arsenal lost two key players before an international game even kicked off? What’s next?
