Liverpool vs Arsenal match preview and predicted score

Hard to look beyond a win for Liverpool at Anfield in the Carabao Cup.

Liverpool welcomes Arsenal back to Anfield for this Carabao Cup game with the Reds looking to continue their fine run of form against the Gunners.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last nine games against Arsenal. However, this game is of less importance to the Reds as they look to win their first league title in 30 years. It is a certainty that an under-strength side will be put out by Jurgen Klopp.

A win for Arsenal would definitely help to lift the mood around the Emirates after Sunday’s disappointing events. However, even against a weaker Liverpool side, Arsenal are up against it.

Unai Emery has largely used his second-string players in this competition and you can expect a similar line up from the Spaniard. Though there is a good chance that Mesut Ozil could lead the Gunners out as captain. Now, that would be different.

Arsenal’s last two Premier League games have been disappointing, with dropped points costing them their place in the top four.

There is no doubt that this will be an open exciting game and with both sides resting their big names, anything could happen. But I am a realist and I am lacking confidence in an Arsenal win.

I do have hope, this is a cup competition after all but all things considered, even as a die-hard Arsenal fan, I have no option but to go with a Liverpool win.

I really hope with every particle in my body that I am wrong.

Predicted score.

Liverpool 3-2 Arsenal

  1. Another loss to that lot, all those teeth on display… be like a dagger through my heart! I will more than likely rage… then cry… 😂 Honestly that is how bad it is right now…

  2. Yes, John0711… with it being Halloween tomorrow, Unai may well be preoccupied…..Jeez just think – those fangs up against Klopp’s teeth! Christ!!!

  3. QD..It’d give us all false hope! So close yet so far. Story of our season (s) !!
For some reason, I can’t seem to reply to comments, directly underneath!

  4. I’m not even keeping my hopes up for this game. If we win, fine, and if we don’t, fine as well. I won’t lose sleep. Until we are able to get a coach that knows what he’s actually doing, then, I can start hoping for a positive result against the likes of Klopp and Guardiola. Nevertheless….. COYG.

  5. 67 -0 to Liverpool and Emery throws his brylcreem over the touch line and Klopp slips over and he high fives Xhaka again ..

  6. And it will all be Ozils fault Dan…either that or AW’s…or even the kronkies…but certainly not UE’s!!!

  7. There is no way forward for club with emery at hem …. he doesn’t have a vision or the authority .. we are playing the worst football in decades … so the sooner he goes the better as far as I’m concerned

  8. SUE,that teeth comment is way too funny, i am still laughing out loud since i read it. dont look at the teeth , lol.
