Man United legend tips Mkhitaryan to thrive at Arsenal

Wayne Rooney has tipped Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s move to Arsenal, tipping the talented forward to thrive at his new club.

The former England international striker played alongside the Armenian all-time international goalscorer at Manchester United last season, and both were limited in match-minutes, but Rooney saw plenty of the new Arsenal signings talent on the training pitch.

Much like the Armenian international manager claimed that Mkhi would enjoy much more freedom to showcase his attacking prowess in Arsenal’s side, Wayne has moved to praise his move to our club.

“I think he is [at a club where he can thrive],” Rooney said of Mkhitaryan.

“I’ve seen it last season in training a lot, he’s a very talented player. I think at Manchester United he didn’t get the freedom he really wanted to go and perform which he had at Dortmund.

“It was a different style of play to what Dortmund played. At Arsenal I think he will have players around him running off the ball, taking the ball, and he will create goals and he will score goals.

“So I really do think he will kick on.”

Mkhi has already begun to show us just how much he can give in our creative side, and his full debut alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will already have sent a message to our rivals.

Tottenham will not be looking forward to taking on our new-look attacking force, and a win for our boys come Saturday will see us move to within a point of our rivals, with much the more confidence going forward.

Is Mkhitaryan more suited to Arsenal than Sanchez was? Will Mourinho regret allowing us to have the 29 year-old?

  1. Both Mkhitaryan and Sanchez could struggle under Mourinho’s system, because they are not as explosive as Hazard and Rashford. I am sure Mkhitaryan has learned from his problems at Manchester United and he could do different things at Arsenal.

But he would not be able to do his magic if he is not supported by good defensive players. Who else want Tiemoue Bakayoko and Moussa Sissoko to replace Xhaka?

      1. Hahahaha, forget about Giroud, I saw new Yaya Toure at Watford yesterday, I dont know how old is he, but he is nearly there.

          1. Also Nketieh, Willock and Nelson are looking really really good for the Under23s. We need a manager who will actually take these guys to the next level. Also Adeleide is another potential star.

If these guys were at Spurs they would be getting more 1st team opportunities.

            1. We already have the youngsters Iwobi, Holding, Maitland Niles, Bellerin, Chambers all having a go in the 1st team. Any more of them and we compromise the whole team’s quality to build individual careers.

  2. once a player left us, i am against to have him back. for me he is no longer a gooner whatever what his feelings are afterwards, agree or not thats me opinion -gooner for ever

  3. I hope so. He looked really good and at home in his first match. He looked like he had been playing for us for years. Mkhitaryan was an excellent signing because he can play with Ozil and replace him when Ozil isn’t playing. We lacked another creative player since Cazorla got injured. Also, Mkhi and Auby were former teammates at Dortmund so that helps too innit.

I think Walcott will do better at Everton because he will actually start regularly.

I just hope Wenger doesn’t treat any of our new signings like he treated Theo, Podolski, Perez. Wenger stopped starting them and they suffered because of that. Im worried in particular of Lacazette. Lacazette wasn’t expecting to challenge Aubameyang but Giroud/Welbeck. I hope Lacazette gets enough playing time. He needs playing time to improve. I hope he sees Aubameyang as a positive challenge if not a up front partner.

    1. I would not worry.
I don’t see Wenger being around much longer.
His power is being devolved to the head scout and director of football.
Its funny how we have employed the former head scout of Borussia Dortmund and a few weeks later we sign one ex dortmund player and also their top player.
Auba was not a Wenger signing in my opinion.
I do get the feeling big changes are coming – thats why Auba signed..

    2. Most of the players that were left out and could not perform under Wenger have not been successful with other clubs. Kevin De Bruyne, Salah, Progba were of good but treated badly. So, it may be safe to say, Arsenal flop is an actual flop.

  4. We have already seen the seeds of discontent from Sanchez as he was filmed complaining to his team mates.
Exactly what he did at Arsenal before the strops and laughing when we were beaten.
The man is poison – he and mourinho deserve each other…

  5. Sorry to go off topic but I feel I must say something about Delli Diver. If an Arsenal player had been booked four times for diving like Delli Alli has you could be guaranteed Sky Sports News would devote a whole programme on this outrageous behavior. however it’s been left to Martin Samuel of the Daily Mail to highlight this blatant cheating. You’d think Ian Wright or Paul Merson might mention it in their columns but their to scared to in case their accused of bias. What’s the game coming to when cheats like him are allowed to get away it with just a yellow card as long as he gives the ref a little pat on the ass as an apology
