Man United v Arsenal confirmed line-up – Mhki out for revenge?

Although Wenger has given many of Arsenal’s top players the weekend off to have a rest ahead of our Europa League semifinal showdown against Atletico Madrid on Thursday, I still think he can field a reasonably strong side this afternoon.

this is the line-up I predicted earlier….

Cech,
Bellerin, Chambers, Holding, Kolasinac,
Willock, Maitland-Niles, Iwobi,
Mkhitaryan, Welbeck,
Aubameyang.

And here is the confirmed line-up picked by Wenger…

Sadly I think will be a normal recent years ending with both Fergie and Mourinho there. So another loss… but Man Utd did same at Emirates when they were in semi finals and last year.. makes sense to ensure players are fit for 2nd leg in Madrid.

Yes Mavropanos is playing, been looking forward to seeing this kid play! Niles aswel has a good energy about him, solid young player.

  2. Muff diver

Mavropanos making his first team debut against man united at old Trafford
    Iwobi aswell lol

I’m about to use 3d glasses on a 2d tv

So very sorry @admin, I misread this post and thought you had typed it in wrong but it was your prediction. Sorry for MY error.

  3. RSH

im fine with the lineup. I’d just change Nketiah and Iwobi around. Iwobi has gotten his chance, so let someone else get theirs. Hopefully Nketiah get’s some solid game time before the season ends. And heard good things about Mavropanos and hope he does well today.

  4. Tatgooner

    Dont expect to win.
If we play too well we might just be able to nick a draw.
    But please no thumpings

  5. Ronny

Ah I see wengers thinking we can’t win a game away so if he makes lots of changes when we lose and possibly get humiliated the confidence of the players we need for Thursday won’t be affected.

No honestly don’t really get this line up, they put a lot in to the el game but still!!

  6. #MAGA

    I think we will win!
    If Iโ€™m correct, applause please.
If Iโ€™m wrong, please shoot me.

Well I count myself as luckiest gunners because I am sitting right behind your skull with my pistol inside my jacket.
Just pray for mother luck to smile on you and your prediction today. Otherwise, I have a letter for you to deliver to Nelson Mandela about sit-tight African Leaders.

  7. Ronny

I predict defend defend defend today with xhaka and MN in mf.
Xhaka long balls over the top for aubameyang.
Counter attacking obviously but do we have the players to break fast and to hold out at the other end? I hope yes but fear no.

  8. Rkw

Just happy wenger is leaving …. There is nothing left to preserve … Just a fresh start … With bellerin Iwobi xhaka chambers mustafi welbeck as a minimum out … Some of these youngsters may turn out ok if they are taught the basics by a serious coach … But it will take a good two years to recover a seriously competitive team

  9. Guns blazing

I have lost count on how many times an arsenal player has gotten fouled this season, we not getting anything from the ref and the other side has scored just after the foul. Pisses me off majorly!

    1. Me

      You sound like Wenger himself.
Finding excuses to detract from the real issue of Arsenal being terrible…

      1. Guns blazing

First of all, i’m in no way a wengerite, but you can’t say i’m lying when i say we have been conceding goals after fouls all season. Yes Arsenal have been terrible this season, and this match doesn’t look any better. Pass pass pass with no penetration, lose the ball, back to square one. I am sick and tired, can’t wait for next season!

  10. Me

Arsenal are simply the worst managed big team in Europe.
The sooner this god awful season is over and the “manager” is gone the better.
    No coaching.
    No tactics.
    No effort.
Just people turning up and getting paid for nothing…

  11. Avenger

almost 20 minutes first half 1-0 and not a shoot from Arsenal to the
    M. United goalkeeper and the M. United fans SINGING OHH Wenger we want you to stay !!!!

  12. sanmi.marvellous

    ALAVES 0-1 ATL. MADRID
22nd clean sheet of the season for the team.

Do we have up to 10 ??
    Just asking.

  13. Footballistrivial

Xhaka is really funny to watch. What was that slide tackle he tried on Pogba before the goal went in?๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. E Anderson

That was not a slide tackle but a slide block anticipating a Paul Pogba shot… but as you know Pogba faked the shot….

  14. RSH

scoreline would be the same with our first XI. Pretty pedestrian game, some chances created. Fully expect united to finish us off 2nd half though. Miki looking pretty good and hope he’s ready for Thursday.

  15. #MAGA

Man U are there for the taking and we are not taking our chances. Nothing new there then! The young ones playing well, Kalasinac wonโ€™t cross, Chambers playing well, Bellerin not in right position for the goal, again, and Xhaka, get the fukc out!

  16. mickmematethemasterfarter

xhaka captain of the arsenal football club shameful, ospina in goal lol..

    1. Lexynal

So in your own opinion, this is Arsnal’s first team? Or what pointless point are you out to make. Why dont you get busy with something else if you are jobless.

  17. Elliot

Im not getting worked up about this. Wenger is leaving, season is finish and for once in a long time im looking forward to next season. I actually think the youngsters are playing ok. Xhaka though…. LOL.

        1. Elliot

Relax. Fing up all season isnt exactly correct either. Hes had some good games. Obviously hes not redeemed for the season but he done well for our goal.

  18. jon fox

Souness and Henry on TV rightfully slaughtering that clown , Xhaka. Most of us have been saying for all his two seasons with us he is not the quality we need. But WENGER “DID NOT SEE IT.” I LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEW MAN TURFING HIM OUT THE DOOR ASAP! Him apart , we are playing entertaining football and should be level, had Xhaka been serious about his duties instead of ridiculously sliding on his arse!

    1. Footballistrivial

I laughed my arse off when xhaka slid like that. He was so far away from Pogba, wtf was he thinking sliding in like that. You only see little kids do that kind of sliding; those kids who were introduced to slide tackle for the first time. Lol.

    2. Rkw

To be followed by bellerin who is also utterly useless … should be able to russle up 50m for the pair of em to increase the transfer pot

  19. Gily

We utterly missed Mkhitaryan for the UEL match. ManU should better not break his leg for our Thursday match.

  20. Ackshay

Mkhi is out for blood. Not even passing to BFF aubameyang. The way mourinho treated him, it’s normal.

  21. Ackshay

Mavropanos looks good. Big, tall, strong and has good recovery pace. Haven’t got a defender like him in a while, maybe a new sol campbell

    1. Me

      A rare positive there.
I would be happy to see the whole squad apart from Aubameyang, Lacazette, Ainsley Miles and Ozil leave.
They are just there for the silly wages that fool Wenger decided to pay them…

      1. Admin Post author

Can you stop with the Wenger hatred for a while. He’s leaving for Christ’s sake, give it a rest!

    2. jon fox

Steady on Ackshay, but he has distinct promise. Looks a player for sure. But Campbell was very special and he should not be burdened with that expectation. Not yet awhile anyway.

      1. Ackshay

Using Campbell style of play as an example not his ability which would be unfair to compare right now.

  22. Arsene is Out

All I can say is Arsene is leaving, and that makes me extremely happy. I dont know what’s next for Arsenal, it might be better or it might be worse but all I know is that we were going nowhere and now at least we have a chance of going somewhere again.

  23. Me

Wenger’s FANTASTIC record of zero away points in 2018 continues.
Roll on the end of the season.
At least we don’t have to listen to his f**king excuses anymore.
And he can take his sh*t signings with him…

  24. Avenger

I am listening the M,United fans singing all along
Ohhhh Arsene Wenger we want you to stay ohhhhhh Arsene Wenger we want you to stay…………….. thats his legacy….
