Matteo Guendouzi to come back against Sporting on Thursday

It looks like Unai Emery has made Arsenal into a formidable opponent no matter who is on the pitch or on the bench, and although Matteo Guendouzi was suspended for our game against Liverpool, we still managed to play extremely well. But he will be back to reinforce the midfield when we take on Sporting in our second meeting with the Portugese giants.

It looks like Arsenal are developing another French contingent at the club, and Alexandre Lacazette has been helping the youngster settle in to London life. The striker said: ‘Auba [Aubameyang] and I get on well but it’s not just with him that I have a good understanding,’

‘I really enjoy playing in this team and with this group of players. ‘Matteo came over from France in the summer and we spend a lot of time with him.

‘He’s young and maybe when he signed he didn’t know too much about the professional life at a big club, so we had to help him with some things.

‘It’s nice because he is happy to learn and we always have fun together.’

Well Matteo certainly has settled in well, and looks like he is going to be a manstay of the team for many years to come. It will be good to have him back on Thursday.

  1. Guendouzi, the second choice after Yacine Adli, has been playing very well in such young age

I wonder if Adli, the first choice, is more talented than Guendouzi? Unfortunately he chose bigger salary from PSG instead of more first team opportunities at Arsenal

Can’t wait to see Guendouzi in the Sporting match, because his vision seems to be improving in each game

  2. That assist for leichsteiner he made against blackpool reminded me of alex song back in the day when he was randomly feeding vanpersie with those kind of passes. alex song was no joke!

  3. Guendouzi, AMN and Ramsay will probably start on Thursday at the expense of Torreria, Xhaka and Ozil which highlights the strength in depth we currently have in midfield. As a matter of interest which trio is the stronger?

    1. Sorry, no comparison; Torreira, Xhaka and Ozil every day of the week. However it is good to have quality backup players.

  4. anyone else fancying seeing auba taking the cf position for this tie? laca is a machine but auba is just as good if not better at scoring. laca needs a lil break as well.
