Midfield star REALLY wants Arsenal transfer! But not yet!!

There have been literally hundreds of Arsenal transfer rumours in the football press since the summer transfer window closed a couple of weeks into the current season and there will be hundreds more before the winter window closes in just over a month.

But you never really know whether Arsene Wenger is really keen on signing a player, whether that player is actually available or whether they even want to come and play for Arsenal. Well I think we can at least clear up the last of those questions when it comes to the Newcastle United and France international midfielder Moussa Sissoko after a Metro report revealed his love for the Gunners.

Sissoko said, “When I was young, Arsenal were my favourite team.

“My idol, Patrick Vieira, played there. I have always loved that club. I still love that club.

“My aim is to play in the best clubs, play the Champions League, win trophies.

“I’m a Magpie and I’m very happy.

“There haven’t been any offers. So I’ll be at Newcastle until the end of the season.

“After that, we’ll see.”

The dynamic 25-year old has been fantastic for Alan Pardew’s side this season and he does play in that central midfield area that has given the Gunners so many problems ever since the aforementioned Vieira left us in 2005. But is Sissoko the type of player that Wenger thinks can fill that gap. Only the man himself can answer that, although Arsenal fans will be hoping that we do not have to wait until next summer to find out.

  1. Wouldn’t call him a star really..

If a player states in public he’s an Arsenal fan, that player isn’t coming. Fact!

  2. Bet one of our players drops the turkey on his foot and gets injured for the Xmas period.
The alltime Legend Tony Adams used to make sure he got enough bookings before the Xmas period so that he was banned for the Xmas football program. Priceless.

    Good business huh.

  4. I still cant get over the fact that Fabregas already has more assists in his 16 PL games than Golden Boy Jack Wilshere in his entire Arsenal career. And still Wenger opted not to bring in Cesc. SMFH!

    1. English players today really suck at soccer. Imagine Jack recently saying he was back to his best. What best?

      1. Agreed. This Fabregas thing is pathetic. Like wanting a girlfriend back who shat on you. Look at where Mourinho plays him – he doesn’t fancy him in the CM pivot/holding role and with good reason – he is crap at anchoring a team. As an advanced MF/No 10 he makes things happen. But he is not that much better than players we have in a similar role to make it a sensible idea to rip up the team sheet, re-wind a few years of history and reinstate him as king-pin. I am happy with taking a punt with what we have. He looks good at Chelsea because he is sitting in a rock solid formation, doesn’t have to worry about his back, and frankly is a creative player that Chelsea has lacked for some time now. Apart from Hazard creativity ain’t their trump card – any creative would stand out there. Imagine an in form Ozil with Matic and/or Mikel sitting behind, a bullet-proof back 5 and a couple of workhorses like Oscar and Willian covering his arse. Costa would get dizzy keeping up with the chances created.

If their is a crime here it is that we didn’t, and still haven’t, got the type of player we need in MF. We won nothing with Fabregas and wouldn’t be any better place now if we had replaced one of our creative 1st IX players with him. And Wenger would just be getting a different sort of shit now – he is a pussy for taking back a Barca reject who left us in the shite after giving him everything he could have hoped for as a start in professional football. Cesc, the Chelski badge kisser – puurrrr..lease.

  5. Would bring a lot of qualities to our midfield that we currently lack. Gotta love some fans and their elitist attitudes, as if Sissoko wouldn’t walk into our midfield….

He may not be the strict DM we hope for, but it’s more and more evident Arsene doesn’t fancy a one dimensional player. Sissoko is miles batter than Flamini and Arteta from deep; big, strong, can carry the ball, and has a great engine. 25 years old and 27 caps for France; very decent option if reports are true.

Added bonus that he loves the club. Newcastle would sell if we show an interest for sure.

  6. The Fab 4 stats mek me feel useless as an Arsenal supporter….
Wenger should learn to be ruthless,,, like it wudn’t hurt to buy him then, just to spite Mourin mouth….Now seee… It hurts me everyday I take a look at my Fab 4 home jersey……
Wenger, I for one,,, WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS GAFFE….

  7. I salute al Guns as dis ma very first tym here. Any of Sissoko, wanyama, morgan or any wc dmf would b welcum bt we al knw our strong headed manager wnt spend big, i pray e doesnt end up wif anoda Kallstrom.

  8. Adm./Bob, i will be very grateful if you could do a story on the following holding mid-fielders, who all have been linked to our great club in a view of solving our holding midfield problem.
    Nabil Fekir Lyon
    Schneiderlin Southampton
    Gregorz Krychowiak Sevilla
    William Carvalho Sporting Lisbon
Christorph Kramer Bayer Leverkusen(mother club) Now with Monchenglabach
    The areas i will suggest you consider are;
1.Their tactical approach to the role
    2 .Ball retention rate
    3. Ability to link defense with attack
    4. Accuracy of their passing
    5. A little bit of stats as compared to our own Arteta.

    Thank you
