Mourinho respected Cech’s wishes, now Wenger should do the same for Rosicky…

This was definitely the most drawn out Arsenal transfer deal I have ever known, although I can imagine Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho shouting at each other over the conference table while discussing the price. I reckon that it only ended up at 10.9 million GBP because they flipped a coin for the final 100,000!

Anyway it is just about a done deal, with the BBC reporting that Arsenal and Chelsea have agreed a price and Cech is on his way to have a medical to cement the mov, and the Czech international will end his 11-year highly successful career at Stamford Bridge. He has won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, one Champions League and one Europa League title, making 13 quality medals in just 11 years. Not bad for a start, as he is obviously going to win a lot more now he is at Arsenal!

Now a lot of people think that he is just moving clubs to get first team football, and I reckon that is totally correct for one BIG reason. He wants to make sure that he is going to the Euro2016 with the Czech national side and his place may have been in doubt if he wasn’t playing regular first team football.

Cech may be happy that he will now be in the same team as his mate Thomas Rosicky, but our Little Mozart would be much happier if he too could be guaranteed a starting spot for the Gunners or the freedom to move to a club that will play him every week, so that he too can be guaranteed a place in France next summer.

I have been thinking that maybe Wenger activated Rosicky’s one year extension clause as extra incentive for Cech to sign, but now that the deal is finalised perhaps Wenger could take pity on Rosicky and let him choose a new club?

Wenger should see that Cech’s manager Jose Mourinho respected his wish to move to Arsenal, despite Jose being totally against the idea. After Rosicky’s eight seasons of loyal service Wenger should give him the same respect….
