Napoli join the race to sign unsettled Arsenal star

Napoli joins Inter Milan and AC Milan showing an interest in unsettled Lucas Torreira.

Arsenal midfielder, Lucas Torreira has become the newest target of Napoli as the Italians look to offload a number of their squad members.

The report in the Daily Mail is reporting that Napoli is looking to revamp their squad starting with the Uruguayan.

Torreira has been open about his frustrations this season as Unai Emery surprisingly began to drop him.

He has started just four league games this season and has also been moved out of position by Emery.

His agent went public recently with the fact that he isn’t happy with his change of position.

Torreira was one of the stars of the last World and starred for his country again in the last International break.

Napoli is not alone in the hunt for his signature with the likes of Milan and Inter Milan also looking to bring him back to Serie A.

Napoli is going through a minor off-field problem with the club’s president and ultras looking to frustrate the players.

They were expected to challenge for the Serie A title this season, but an unsettled squad may see them struggle to even finish inside the top four.

The likes of Alan have been placed on the market following the recent player revolt and Torreira could be a good replacement for the Brazilian.

  1. I think Torreira wants to go back to Italy, not just from lack of games because he sounded like he was a bit upset that the Napoli move never materialized. He sounded homesick, missing the weather and the food, he seemed like he struggled a little bit in making the adjustment. This season now he probably thinks about it allot more. His agent seems to be putting out feelers, trying to work up a few interested parties.

He should be getting more gametime esp with our options dwindling by the week. I’d prefer to see Luiz in holding role, play Torreira and Willock and give them Ramsey type of instructions. Torreira is fiesty and he can be a handful, Willock needs to grab an opportunity and just go for it, Niles too if he gets one. The forwards need more commitment from our midfielders.

  2. The truth is no arsenal player is comfortable playing under emery, the most attractive club in england is now the most boring and confused team in the league, what a tragedy, those who keep saying we v bn detorierating since 2011 pls come and back it up with facts!!20 million lies can never make up a truth!

      1. We finished 4th in 2013/14,we finished 3rd in 2014/15,we finished 2nd in 2015/16 if u can’t see any progression there definitely u need a realty check, fans who created a toxic environment for both the coaches and players after we finished 2nd below lecister should partly take the blame for what happens,no club can sicced in a toxic environment!

        1. Finishing second that season was only due to spurs doing their thing.Even with the other top teams not turning up, we were not really in the title race. The table doesn’t tell the full story. No point telling ourselves lies because we don’t want to be toxic.

  3. Now if Emery would play players such as Torreira in their natural positions and have some sense on tactics like proper managers then maybe we wouldn`t be in this situation and players would all be in harmony instead of wanting to leave the sinking ship that is HMS Arsenal.

  4. He’s a good player, played out of position, in a wrong tac tic and formation as many.

Anyhow, if Milan also wants Xhaka, Napoli may as well; either ways this is is great opportunity to get our team back on track: get Koulibaly in a swap 60M + Torreira! Sell Xhaka to unload middle where we have Niles Willock ready to do better job!

We miss this top CB, lock that area as Van djick at Reds. There’s a cruise at Napoli, they are ready to sell many players as Koulibaly,we facilitated them with ospina deal, this all can work in this business relationship! Koulibaly has enough, fed with italy monkey screams as well. All lights are green!

    Leno

    Bellerin Chambers Koulibaly Tierny

    Niles Willock

    Ozil

    Pepe Laca. Auba

This team would be extremely difficult to play in defense and deadly in attacking as Niles and Willock as habikty to bring superiority at both ends, forget about the attacck; phenomenal going forward with bellerin Tierny also both rushing forward, this would be a wave on opponent, so much pressure, probably play all game in opposite camp with ineed midfield control, with such defense it makes it easier to play, if a hole in center, no way to ever focus elsewhere!
