Reiss Nelson will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Brentford after the Bees reached an agreement to bring him into their squad.
The winger previously impressed during a short loan spell at Fulham, although his time there was unfortunately disrupted by injuries. These setbacks forced Arsenal to terminate the arrangement early, with Nelson returning to the Emirates for treatment.
Arsenal have since strengthened their attacking options over the summer, particularly in the wide areas, which has limited the opportunities available for Nelson. With game time likely to be scarce if he remained, the decision was made to seek a temporary move elsewhere. Brentford stepped forward with a proposal, and Nelson will now continue his development at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Why Nelson Chose Brentford
There was considerable interest in Nelson from several clubs, yet he ultimately opted for Brentford. Explaining his decision, he spoke directly to supporters through the club’s official channels. Speaking to Brentford’s website, he expressed both his enthusiasm and his ambition for the season ahead.
He said, “I can’t wait to get going. It’s a big platform for me to express myself, and that’s what I need right now. I wanted to go to a club where I know I’m going to play regularly; I know there’s competition for places but I’m going to train hard and show myself that I can get the minutes I deserve.”
Nelson’s words highlight his determination to prove himself in a competitive environment, while also underlining his belief that Brentford can offer him the platform to showcase his abilities on a consistent basis.

A Fresh Start in West London
For Brentford, the addition of Nelson provides another attacking option with Premier League experience, which could prove crucial as they continue their campaign. His pace, creativity and direct approach are qualities that should complement the Bees’ style of play, while also giving him the opportunity to reignite his career following a challenging period.
This loan move represents not only a chance for Nelson to gain valuable minutes but also an opportunity to re-establish his reputation as a player capable of performing at the highest level. Supporters of both Brentford and Arsenal will be keen to see how he progresses over the coming months.

Is there a Loan to Buy for Nelson?
There is an option to buy but I don’t know if a sell-on clause is to be part of any purchase upon exercise of the option and I don’t believe the amount of the option has been disclosed.
There are those who think we should have sold Nelson just after the 3 – 2 classic with Boumeounth.
He’s a decent player that can hold his own , but the piss pot load of money He’s getting weekly seems to be the stumbling block to selling him
No the issue is we think our players are better then they are
That’s how an average player ends up on 100 thousands pounds a week
He’s no where near the level of a title winning team
Isn’t that one of the criticisms one could say about Arsene Wenger Dan?
How do you mean ?
During Arsene’s time at our club, wasn’t Ozil put on that ridiculous reported £300,000 a week for example?
Your talking to wrong man
I rated Ozil
Can’t be compared to Reiss Nelson
One is a World Cup Winner
The other is a Championship level player
How about Denilson on £45 k and Bendtner on £52k then ?
I think we got value from those players. They were very much part of the first team and they contributed greatly.
They were certainly not bench warmers (in every sense of the word) who were on 100k a week.
Is Havertz worth 300k? Is Jesus worth 250k? Is Martinelli worth 180k? Just to mention a few..
Bendtner did spend a lot of the time on the bench before being loaned out to a few clubs. He then left on a free transfer.
Denilson hardly started a game in his last season with us. The vast majority of the season he was on the bench. He then went back to Brazil on loan before his contract was ripped up.
Why do you focus only on his last season when he spent 9 years at Arsenal?
Yes Bendtner was a sub player and his salary reflected that. He scored important goals and worked his socks off for the team.
Were Nelson and Nketiah used half as much as Wenger used Lord Bendtner? Did they play at all after their ridiculous raises?
Sorry I should have explained it better. He spent two seasons out on loan before his last season with us, which again was spent mostly on the bench.
Andreas Berta has done a great job bringing in the right players to the club . The next thing he needs to do is improve on our player selling skills
Just got the record and because I admit when I’m wrong, here are the actual stats from Sundays game via a pool website.
Shots:
Pool 9 Arsenal 11
On Target
Pool 3 Arsenal 1
Possession
Pool 53% Arsenal 47%
Successful Passes
Pool 368 Arsenal 303
Long Passes
Pool 60 Arsenal 50
Corners
Pool 3 Arsenal 8
Hope this clears my earlier mistake up 🙏
Thanks Ken. It was most of our corners came from the corner where Bukayo would normally be taking them and Rice was apparently only able to provide out swingers. I was surprised that no one else could be utilized to provide decent in swingers which is when we’re by far most dangerous.
👍
I notice Ken1945,
You left out the main stat, Liverpool 1 – 0 Arsenal. Just saying. 🤷♂️
