No Way! Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil ruled out until next year!

There were a lot of questions asked about Mesut Ozil’s performance in Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend, but it now seems he was carrying an injury, whether sustained previously or during the game is yet to be ascertained.

It was reported this morning that on reporting for Germany he was immediately scheduled for a scan on his knee, which immediately threw up questions about whether the Arsenal medical knew about the problem before sending him off to the German camp.

Now the official German Twitter account has confirmed that Ozil will miss the next 10-12 weeks with ligament damage to his left knee. And has since been confirmed by FIFA. ‏@FIFAcom 1h1 hour ago

.@Arsenal’s @MesutOzil1088 will miss up to 12 weeks with knee injury, @DFB_Team_EN confirmed –

This is another massive injury blow for Arsenal which will be only slightly alleviated when Theo Walcott returns shortly after being in the teatment room for the last god-knows-how-many months.

When will it all end?

  1. vijaygunner says:

Arsene rejecting fabregas back at Arsenal was always going to haunt him, started last weekend and still hauting him now. 3 months eh? time to bulk up ozil!!!

    1. arsenalman365 says:

We already have Cazorla and others. Podolski and Campbell have barely had a kick with Gnabry and Walcott coming back from injury. People are going to blame our medical department and Wenger however, Debuchy, Giroud and Ozils injuries were all caused via contact.

      1. mike says:

where you at now, Ozil haters. who cares he’s injured, right? he’s been a liability and awful, right? he’s not going to be missed then by that rational, i assume? fools. oh, and just for the hell of, “it’s all Wenger’s fault.”

        1. Budd says:

Exactly. Same fu ckers on this site (and they are quite a lot) were bashing Ozil and now Wenger and the medical staff. By a long shot, this site have the most retarded people ever to populate the internet. This is why actually admin keeps it up because stupidity is entertaining.

          1. Zulu-boy-SA says:

Who the f*ck are you to call us stupid biatch, no player is above criticism when he is not performing well.

          2. mike says:

you’re a fool. just bc he’s not playing at his wc ability does not mean he’s playing poorly. that’s a difference that you and many footy fans, that don’t understand the finer points of the game, still need to learn. ozil has not been wc, but to say he’s been awful or whatever you think he’s been that is worse than decent, is simply not accurate. if we only want to question whether he’s been playing wc then on that issue alone he has not been and we can agree that he has been sub-wc. but he’s been better than average and at least decent. even playing on the wing and showing a lack of effort.

          3. Zulu-boy-SA says:

You are not making sense c*nt, listen to logic, if a world class player is not playing up to his WC ability then he is playing poorly by his standards, he is not perfoming to his full potential.

          4. Budd says:

I did not included you in the list because you worth less than a $hit but hey, you’re welcome to the ranks.

          5. Carbon-12 says:

Really I’ve bn reading articles and comments on this site for the past years. I’ve just registered though because of few TRUE FANS like Budd. This site is better named as KIDS’ CORNER or SPUDS’ FORUM.
To me Arsenal have a very good stadium, good squad and very good manager but also 2many naive fans. Fans like u must be sent on loan to clubs like Chelsea. You may come back and join the celebrations in May.

    2. Budd says:

I am sure that Fabregas bought a voodoo puppet and inserted needles in it just because he was pi$$ed off Wenger did not bought him back. Wait, he actually bought 11 of those and this week was the puppet named Ozil to have some needles inserted in the knee zone.

    3. ethiogunner says:

I know its not healthy to be happy when our players got injured but frankly speaking I’m happy that Ozil got injured. Even the day before yesterday this is what I exactly told my friend (((I’m tired of watching Ozil on the flank as he is struggling a lot & I wish him to get injured))) For me Ozil’s injury is a blessing in curse we all were complaining & blaming Wenger about the formation; players selection & for using players out of position now this all problems are going to be solved thanks to Ozil’s injury.

  2. red14 says:

painful to say but we deserved it… i dont know what must happen to Arsenal. the board needs to realise we have huge problems. no plan b, every tactis same game from home to QPR to the stamford bridge. no backup players in the back, poor backup players to the front giroud podolski sanogo. injuries every week to key players. overplaying. no rotation. when rotation is made the team doesnt work. overperforming players playing bcause they havnt got replacements. lack of mental strenght. lack of grip. no disclipline! which today has really really big role in football. look at simeones athletico

sorry people but these are real problems, existing since 10 years, and wenger/the board doesnt give a thing to solve these problems.

    1. red14 says:

if we have a manager that keeps this fluid football, but installs discipline in the team we could do EVERYTHING. Klopp anyone? if we had discipline we would have beaten man city, wouldnt gone down 2-0 at goodison, and kept 0-0 at chelski. must organise ourselfes asap. bould have to step up, and f@kin tell the players what to do in high pressure games.

      1. muffdiver says:

i think there needs to be more on the line for these divas: sanogo can u score at least every two games please…would hate to see your pet hamster tied to a frisbee and thrown

      2. jonestown1 says:

Imagine the shit Wenger would be getting if he had lost 4 of his first 7 games as Klopp has.

    2. ritblitz says:

all this sounds like a managers job responsibilities….!

      1. red14 says:

yes sir, but wenger will not solve them. i love him and i suppose you love him too, and i think we must stick to him because he knows ALMOST everything about football. but he wont change his gameplan. the board must realize this and recommend to wenger to do the gameplan with steve bould. he will add mental strenght and oragnisation. and not just in defence.bould must work with the whole team and theach them to defend as a team. and to the high pressure games he will add the plus we need. arsene cant do it alone anymore in these days

    3. Ljungberg's Cool Red Hair says:

As i said before injurys are solely Wenger reposanbility ( there’s no one else to blame in a club that is 1000% runned by this lunatic). There’s only one positive on this, Wenger will stop his idiotic experiments with Ozil and will be forced to play cazorla on the wing because YOU CAN BE SURE THAT THIS IDIOT WONT NEVER EVER START A REAL WINGER AS LONG AS A CAM IS AVAILABLE.

      1. Budd says:

Well, if your father were to be responsible he’d wear a condom the day your mother got pregnant with you. Yet nobody blamed him for bringing such a retard on the planet, is it?

        1. arsenalfan1 says:

Abuse shouldn’t be let deflect our attention away from where the responsibility lies for these problems……..The Manager!

          1. Budd says:

Yes, because the manager was the one putting the wrong foot on the ground for Debuchy, Walcott, Giroud or Ozil. Do you have any idea how retarded you sound?

          2. Ljungberg's Cool Red Hair says:

Years and years of loosing massive amounts of players is clearly ok for you… I respect that

Player’s development? F*ing kidding me? It only works in 1/5 players. The worst part IS that it takes a LOT of time and in the process we ALWAYS loose points. Ended product vs Future promise? (Wilshere vs Say Vidal, wenger will play wilshere in the middle over vidal and send vidal to a wing)

Motivation? Táctics? Throphies? Ahh yes, wenger make’s a lot of profit.

            Who’s the idiot here?

          3. Budd says:

Must be you because I don’t see anyone else around.

        2. Zulu-boy-SA says:

F*ck you man, that’s just too much, you don’t say tht to another human being. Do you have a mother?

          1. Budd says:

I am adopted. Grew in the house. Ah, the nice times!

          2. kia_SA says:

Yeah Mate, that’s a bit offsides.

  3. pranavTrue Gooner says:

Unbelieveble! How many injuries !! For Other Football Clubs.. Its ‘Who Are The Players Injuried Right Now ?’ For Arsenal.. Its ‘Who Are The Players Not Injuried Yet ?’
Get Well Soon Ozil !!! Come back stronger

  4. fred cowardly says:

I don’t know what to say.

    1. muffdiver says:

….jamaica we have a bobsleigh team?

  5. morfin443 says:

Guess wenger is not the only problem.. he got accomplice… 10 years and still counting.. God help us

  6. GunningSoulman says:

Well……Im not surprised anymore….Deja vu at its finest

  7. mr lean says:

Firstly get well soon Ozil ,second if it is discovered Wenger has played Ozil with an injury someone at the club should grow some balls and sack le fraud.

    1. arsenalman365 says:

He sustained the injury during the game Sherlock.

  8. royalman says:

Somethin is wrong with Arsenal. Why always us.

    1. Budd says:

Yes, bunch of whiners on internet unable to support the team thru bad or good. Karma is a bitch and bad energy from all of you gets eventually to Arsenal. That’s what’s wrong with Arsenal.

  9. NY_Gunner says:

Any of you guys want some cheese to go with all of that “WHINE”?

    1. arsenalman365 says:

Literally all people do is complain about every player and blame arsene wenger for all negativity in the world. Then make contradictory comments like ‘the board don’t spend money’.

      1. muffdiver says:

i totally agree 100% on the money hit the spot top notch right on power to the people whos your daddy

  10. fred cowardly says:

Now Sanchez will need to go back to the left wing to cover for Ozil

  11. wibble says:

Well the official statement is :

“Arsenal can confirm that midfielder Mesut Ozil is returning to London from international duty with Germany after picking up a knee injury during Sunday’s game at Chelsea.
Ozil complained of a sore left knee after the game and the club advised the German FA to run medical checks when he joined up with his international squad.
The club will make further assessments and it is too early to say how long Ozil may be out of action.”

    1. Budd says:

Tadaaaam! And the truth comes out slowly. BTW, I think Wenger is at fault here that Schurrle is injured as well.

  12. 209Gunner says:

The injury gods screws us again.
Well I say it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for us its not as if Ozil is playing great this season for us. This will give him his rest ( 3 months worth) and we should expect nothing but his best when the 2nd stanza of the season resumes. Let’s not forget we have Carzola, Rosicky, the OX, Ramsey, Wilshere and even Abou Diaby who can play that wing. Keep the Faith. #COYG.

  13. 209Gunner says:

We need to forget about Fabregas, No need to cry over spilled milk. Its becoming annoying and we’re begining to sound like whining bit*hes

    1. muffdiver says:

      have u ever spilled milk…heartbreaking

  14. mystic says:

‘…………..but it now seems he was carrying an injury, whether sustained previously or during the game is yet to be ascertained.’
Gutted, it must have happened after the 83rd minute when Rosicky came on, there is surely no way a manager would have kept him on, is there?

    1. arsenalman365 says:

b He was awful. One problems with injuries like this (from experience) is that you won’t feel pain until you stop the sport. There’s no way he felt his acl during the game or else he wouldn’t be walking. knee Ligament damage will make you incapable of walking let alone football. There’s no chance that he already had the injury.

      1. mike says:

it’s his lcl, not his acl. and it was partial, according to reports of the diagnosis from the MRI. so, you’re right that you won’t notice it. plus, bc it was partial, he was only ever going to feel a nagging pain, not a sharp one or even sensation of destabilization.

  15. arsenalman365 says:

That’s because we are whining b*tches. Ozil has been awful so far this season tbh. He had played in his BEST position in which he produced 17 la liga assists in a season (right wing) as well as being lightning quick and the clubs best dribbler. It’s not gonna affect the dynamic of the team.

  16. JADON says:

BLESSING IN DISGUISE..YEAH! Would give more playing time to other players who’re willing to fight and give their all to Arsenal.

  17. GOONSTER says:

It is worrying the amount of injuries keep sustaining season after season… But I think we will be fine without Ozil, as long as the crucial players Ramsey, Cazorla, Walcott and Sanchez etc hit form or come back from injury then we will be fine..

But we need to really take a closer look at our training methods etc…

  18. Jogon says:

CALM DOWN EVERYONE. DONT TURN THIS SITE INTO Instead of being keyboard warriors why not to show your frustration to the board and manager next weekend at Emirates.
Me personally i blame the fans, if you were ambitious as you all say then all this would not be going on, everyone has to accept that they are responsible for what is happening from the owner, fans and manager.

    1. muffdiver says:

might have a point there…what did u say again?

      1. Jogon says:

If the fans are tired of what Wenger is doing, then why is he still at the club. Protest that he is not doing his job well

        1. muffdiver says:

you are spot on!!…wait ..oh dammit..lost it again..what did u say?

          1. Jogon says:

            Stop fightingwith your keyboard

          2. Jogon says:

Some people have one brain cell

          3. muffdiver says:

i would argue i have less than one.
            what now dumbledore?

          4. Jogon says:

Pass me some of that you are smoking

  19. arsenalman365 says:

Ozil is a luxury and he really won’t be missed massively. We’ll be fine.

    1. Jogon says:

If he is luxury like you say why is it that one of the best managers in the world if not the best is running after him and dont give that….. that Wenger is a good manager

  20. xan says:

Well that’s just f@#king brilliant isn’t it! WTF is going on?
And this world class fitness guru Shad or whatever?? Sorry about the rant but this is getting ridiculous

    1. arsenalman365 says:

It was caused by contact m8. No fitness guru in the world could stop it. Just bad luck.

      1. xan says:

Well, yeah that may be true but you can’t blame me for being optimistic that a high calibre fitness coach has been signed.
But seriously, being all for Arsenal is getting stressful day by day. I need to lie down now

        1. xan says:

And you saying “Ozil is a luxury” has to be the dumb comment of the day, respectfully saying. Look at it this way – if I was facing an Arsenal team with Ozil in it, I’d be a lot more nervous. Whatever your opinion of him may be, that through ball to Alexis was pure class, and he’d be a massive loss

          1. arsenalman365 says:

Ozil has been poor after his first 10 games with the occasional glimpse of his class. If he was at top form then it will be felt more.

        2. arsenalman365 says:

I think that people are expecting change too quickly. No team in world football has a perfect squad with perfect finances that harldly has injury problems. A managers job is much harder than it’s made up to be. If we had signed Fabregas, there wouldn’t be any squad spaces for a dm as well as being stocked in midfield, no defensive midfielders were available nor moved. Carvalho costs a bomb, Schneiderlin and Bender were also not for sale and 3 long term contact injuries. We have has seriously bad luck, however the team is mich stronger this season plus, until Christmas, we have the easiest run in of games. Enjoy the ride COYG.

          1. mystic says:

Too quickly – ha ha ha, guessing this was a ironic post. 10 years since the last PL title, but the expectation is for things to happen too quickly?

  21. mr lean says:

Arsenal FC have today submitted planning permission to extend the emirates.they need a bigger treatment room ! Sorry if I can’t laugh I think I will cry
All these injuries ! Bad luck or bad management ?

    1. NIKK says:

Inevitable case of trying to fit square pegs into round holes for far too long, Mr Lean!

      1. mr lean says:

        Yes agree with you there

  22. captinweestain says:

This is a conspiracy lad’s it must be.

    1. muffdiver says:

i agree the same thing happened in mercury rising: where is bruce willis when you need him

  23. abishek says:

IMO OX has all the attributes of Bale except for consistency. what do you guys think?

    1. muffdiver says:

tell me thats a joke- i love the ox but no sorry bale has way more to his game-

your so wrong the world can never be right again

    2. Robin Vanpayslip says:

    3. Budd says:

Same way a cow has all the attributes of an ox except for the balls.

  24. sam-afc says:

A new long term injury, why doesn’t this surprise me…… Why us. Name another team who have players that get injured as often as ours do.

On the + side at least Walcott is nearly fit again.

    1. arsenalman365 says:

      Gnabry as well COYG

  25. mr lean says:

I would love to see ox given a chance but we do have rosicky and santi who can play the 10 role

  26. Gunner T says:

Well, big deal…its not like it was going to make a big difference in our race for 4th/5th.

    1. Brada b says:

      True or even #6 hehe

  27. babakoks says:

Ozil will not be missed. He is short one on the pitch. He loses balls ..hardly tackles..and never takes on a defence. If we had paid 15m for him I may have felt better but 42m and getting this crap? Serious minded coaches would have benched him. Look at what manu is enjoying in di maria. Ozil plays as if he is doing arsenal a favour. BENCH HIM FOR 4 MONTHS.

    1. Brada b says:

Sorry for the injury on #11 but besides that ur spot on mate & by the way #FACK AW!!! I blame him should’ve sub #11 when we were playin chelsea but nooooo !!!!!

    2. jermaineBryan says:

Ozil flatters to deceive according to squawka he is our best performer this season he is also created the most chances in our team nearly 2wice as much as jack. He also has a 88% pass accuracy and a goal to his name

    3. Stef_Hur says:

I wish I could give you more than a single thumb-up for your comment. You said pretty much everything about Ozil. Personally, I hate watching him defend, he is even lazier than Podolski, as they both just seem to try to hide among the other players. Ozil plays as if he is a luxury for this team, as if he is the best player. He may have left RM over a year ago but his mind seems to have remained there. He may be our most expensive player but also one with the lowest work-rate!! I dont worry about his injury. We have Cazorla, Rosicky, Ramsey even Wilshere and Diaby who can fill in the gap. Looking forward to TW14 playing again!!!

  28. @sama says:

I want Walcott and Gnabry back.

    1. muffdiver says:

      i want thundercats back

      1. Robin Vanpayslip says:

It never left. Its just not televised anymore 😉

      2. DaveJay says:

        What, no Silverhawks?

  29. LoCkAy says:

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal way is crumbling day by day and has been going down the bucket for years… !!

  30. tonyz says:

just been checking out Özil on youtube as real player ,,, How the F,,K is wenger playing him on the left wing what a c..t, also what the f..k is he doing to our players how is it possible to have do many players out, wish he really lost the plot and nutted that c..t on Sunday would have had to resign,

    1. IceBergKamp10 says:

Does anyone else feels dat wenger is throwing his legacy away bit by bit ?
Would have been better if he had walked out after winning FA Cup. Already depressed about dis season.

      1. Budd says:

His legacy will stay there for quite sometimes unless “ze germans” decided to bomb London again and hit the Emirates in one of the raids.

  31. IceBergKamp10 says:

    Noone can fire Wenger.Fact.
He’ll leave when he choses to. We have a manager who’s uninspired & stubborn. He want to do everything his way & then say “Told u so”.
Frankly i respect the man so very much i wouldn’t say a word to his face either.
But he lost the plot around four years back.

  32. fred cowardly says:

Wenger will say that there is no need to panic buy in January. He will say we have Cazorla, Wilshere, Rosicky and Walcott coming back will be like a NEW signing. He will say everything is fine despite some bad luck.

  33. gamer says:

wengers fault hes buid a team fulll of lightweights dwarfs what do you expect. our lightweigt players are made to do the job of a matic, toure etc. we are the most lightweight team in the league its no coincidence we have the most injures . we should have big strong players to do the hard work to allow the lightweight dwarfs to do what they no best. wenger is old and has lost what good he use to be he left his winning formula for this philosophy but guess what ITS FAILED AND THIS STOBBORN MAN DOES NOT WANT TO BELIEVE IT . time to step down at the end of the season im fed up of this tbh. i rather drop out of the champions league than have this crap for the next 3 years , we need new faces new ideas and we need a manager willing to spend on players we need not go around penny pinching

  34. ddaall says:

Does any body know When Walcott & Ramsey back?? Well be fine when they return.

  35. Ronny331 says:

    Conspiracy theory:
Whenever Ozil’s playing cr*p he is announced as injured, it happened last year.
Maybe he’s fed up playing on the flanks!!
Arsenal aka ‘Injury United’, joke our players are made of glass.

  36. bashman says:

sounds about right, one comes back from injury and another one takes his place as it always is with arsenal. nothing changes, i wonder does arsenal even have a medical team?.
