Official Arsenal team and preview for Hull at home

There have been two big questions for Arsenal fans this week as Arsene Wenger and the players prepared for the Premier League home game against Hull City with the need to bounce back quickly and put the disappointment of losing to Watford and Chelsea to one side.

The question of who would start for Arsenal in midfield was one and the other was on the fitness of Hector Bellerin after the Spanish right back was knocked out in a collision with Marcos Alonso last weekend. There is good news for us Gooners on that one, as Bellerin starts to add the pace and attacking impact that Gabriel simply does not possess.

Wenger has also brought Kieran Gibbs in for Monreal, possibly because of his own attacking threat but also because the Spaniard has not been his usual reliable self of late. In central midfield the boss has resisted the temptation to bring in Elneny fresh from the disappointment of losing the AFCON final with Egypt, sticking with Coquelin and Oxlade-Chamberlain instead.

Wenger has also kept faith with the players like Ozil, Walcott and Alexis Sanchez who were heavily criticised for their performance against Chelsea, so they really need to repay the manager and show what they can do and help the Gunners back to winning ways today.

Cech
Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Gibbs
Oxlade-Chamberlain, Coquelin
Walcott, Ozil, Iwobi
Alexis

Subs: Ospina, Monreal, Gabriel, Elneny, Lucas, Welbeck, Giroud.

Come on you Gunners, give us something to cheer about today.

Bob.

  1. I’ll tell you what, Ozil better come out flying today. Sick and tired of his jib-jabbering about waiting to see if Wenger signs before he puts pen to paper. How he can say that and perform the way he has this past six weeks is beyond me.

  2. Lucas perez needs to get out of Arsene’s Arsenal.
Can’t cech be benched for once?
Gibbs deserved to start, happy for him.
Only a big win could cheer me up from last week disappointments.

  3. Welbeck for Walcott.

    Lucaz for OZil

Push Iwobi in Ozil position and Lucas starts from the flank.

    Ospina for Cech

    Gibbs for Monreal.

That’s the changes I would have made if I am the manager. I will be ruthless at times. Well, I m not the manager.

    3points very crucial.

  4. Its going to be a difficult game Hull know we are under pressure to preform they wil try hard to put salt on our wounds so they better turn up else its going to be a massacre

  5. Same old $hit 4231. Same old, I would laugh if I weren’t bored to death by this stupid, stupid formation. Get Welbeck in and drop Ozil and play 433. Or if you insist playing Ozil, do 442 and drop him on the flanks where no one is expecting.

  6. Typical Wenger, no one punished for recent performances. Monreal benched is more of a token gesture than anything, as he’ll be starting against Bayern. Laughable line-up! I said in January that Perez should hand in a transfer request, because he won’t be given a chance. Wenger has his favourites, and that’s the end of it.

Cech, Monreal, Ozil, and Walcott, should have all been benched today.

  7. Got to be so careful and watch out for counters with both grosicky and markovic being so quick. Could be a long afternoon. Coyg!

    1. Thats why Wenger asked us to be like Spurs fans, They won nothing for a very long time but they are always behind their team

  8. We should bring on Welbeck and Perez and possibly OG – they need some playing time even if playing against BM

  9. Last week I predicted a hard earned draw or win. Hall is really pushing for the equalizer. Hull is bossing the second half.

  10. Holding on, and quite quite frankly being dominated in the 2nd hakf at home against relegation threatened Hull.

It’s really hard watching this outfit anymore, the futbol is a ridiculously predictable and typical Wenger.

Bayern will be a painful reminder of where Arsenal stands on the world football stage.

    1. I wonder what you expect from a relegation-bound team. The last time I checked they got a draw at a Old Trafford and only few days back. Mate, never expect to run-over a relegation-bound team especially with a few games more to go. I thought Arsenal were a lot more disciplined and tactical this time,,,,you should give them kudos. Take that 3points mate and let’s hope to get better in the run in.

  11. Getting a bit fed up with Sky going on about Alexis handball – hull defenders hand kept ball out of goal in first half. Ball to hand maybe, but so was Alexis’ – you can’t have it both ways.
