Official Arsenal team and preview of Hull in FA cup

Just as Arsenal fans were led to believe, our FA cup opponents today in the 5th round have kept their focus on getting out of the Championship and into the Premier League, as Hull City manager Steve Bruce makes 10 changes to his starting line up, so hopefully the fact that Arsene Wenger has made nine from the Arsenal side that beat Leicester should not be damaging.

The only two starters from last Sunday to keep their places are the centre back pairing of Mertesacker and Koscielny and with Gabriel still out of action due to injury and with Calum Chambers replacing Bellerin at right back the boss did not have a lot of choice.

Ospina
Chambers, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs
Flamini, Elneny,
Campbell, Iwobi, Walcott
Welbeck

Subs: Macey, Bellerin, Monreal, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlin, Sanchez, Giroud

The Arsenal side still looks like a strong one to me, especially up front where Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott will be feeling good after both scored against the Foxes and will be keen to build on that and force their way into the first team on a regular basis, not to mention the thoughts of the England manager Roy Hodgson ahead of Euro 2016.

Will the Arsenal second string be too much for the Hull reserves?

      1. Hahaha ???
        Yep!…. It sureeeee is!! ???

Nine shots…. 5 on target … We are even making the Hull reserve keeper look World class ???

Oh well, maybe super sub lamppost will save the day ?

  1. 4-0 will be a good result going into this mega clash on tuesday v barcelona, a nice boost as we will be defending most of the 120mins against these boys!

Good line up expecting nothing but a win and into the quarter finals, lets hope Dean keeps it fair today and doesnt celebrate if Hull score!!

  2. Well decent lineup, but it will be intense and close match. I just want to qualify to next round. Whether its a 5-0 or 1-0 or 6-5. We all have high expectations initially, and then we end up close winners

    Anyways, COYG
    Lets go Gunners

  3. This is the sort of lineup we should playing against the more physical sides. Iwobi, Welbeck, Chambers and El Nenny all strong lads. Likes of Stoke and Southampton won’t find much joy against this team 😛

    1. EL-neny don’t look too physically strong……… He gets shoved too easily

He should work on his gravity …..but his pass is awesome and boy we are still waiting to see him “whip” something

  4. A little short of def options because of the Debuchy loan. I would be far more comfortable using Chambers to cover for CBs only. But Wenger always seems to leave a little def gap somewhere.

  5. Let’s go for the kill..here is hoping this match will be an entertaining one and one we watch fully relaxed without any tension..coyg!! 3-0

  6. Kind of boring match. We have the possession but all the chances we’ve created seem very forced. It’s like we are trying to walk the ball into net (what a surprise).

  7. its time to accept that we need at least a couple of centre backs, ospina is over rated and we need goals from midfield

    1. After Per and Kos, Gabriel is in his mid 20’s. I see Chambers more as a CB that a RB but yes I agree we do need at least 1 more because our seniors aren’t getting any younger.

  8. Why do I get the feeling we will need to bring on Alexis just to score. If that’s the case it would be sad because he shouldn’t be gracing the field until Tuesday.

  9. Positives…pressing at least .. elneny (should start against barca) iwobi (next season could be his moment) and welbeck ( moving well at least though not sure he’s added anymore brain cells in the lay off) negatives …usual suspects ..ospina merteshaker ( the worst distributor of a football in the EPL) flamini (wouldn’t look out of place at shrewsbury tomorrow in either side!) Walcott ( when are we getting rid of this footballing nonentity) and Campbell ( yes he tries hard but his touch is poor) … Might have to give ox and Sanchez a run out at this rate

    1. Ospina makes me nervous when he’s in goal and that’s not because of what he did in the champions league. If you look at the replay where Kos seemed to have headed it out of his hands for a corner you will see he was nowhere near it to take charge of that cross.

  10. Need quick one touch passing…everyone lingering too long on the ball…urgency required b4 the crowd falls asleep!

  11. Of course bring on Alexis and Giroud because no one else can score an single goal against Hull. We really need to consider some improvements in the summer.

    1. Don’t matter when Özil is not there creating 10-15 chances for them to score that one goal.

  12. Wenger’s love affair with Walcott is sickening … He has been the least potent attacking force all afternoon

  13. we are in need of a massive overhaul, we are not scoring any where near enough goals and the only positive in defence is Czech.

  14. This is VERY unconvincing ahead of our clash against barca. I’m however more worried about how out of form Sanchez looks. Welbeck Iwobi and Eleny seem to be the only positives i’ve seen so far from this.

  15. These players should be banned from social media until the next time they win a trophy again like Keown said. We make it so easy for the media to right stories like Barcelona wants Özil because we carry so much trash on our roster. Disappointed

  16. Am guessing barca are quaking in their boots …. Hopeless … Need to buy at least two world class attacking options and another centre half in the summer
