Official Arsenal team for Newcastle – Ozil OUT Koscielny IN

Did someone recently suggest that Arsenal had waved goodbye to the injury problems that had been causing Arsene Wenger so many problems in the last few years? Well Mesut Ozil is the latest Gunner to have to miss a game this season, due to a knee problem, and it is starting to look like nothing has changed.

Arsenal fans do have some good news on the injury front as well however, and it could be more important than losing our German play maker. Laurent Koscielny has recovered from the back problem which kept him out of the Liverpool game and will be paired with the Brazilian Gabriel at the centre of our defence. Many fans think this could be our best two defenders so it will be interesting to see how well they perform against a Newcastle side with a lot of pace and width up front.

Wenger has made another change as well, which is nothing to do with injuries, bringing Walcott into the centre forward position and dropping Giroud to the bench. With Oxlade-Chamberlain replacing Ozil, the Gunners will also be packed with pace up front, while Cazorla will move forward into the number 10 role with Ramsey taking his place in the middle.

Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal
Coquelin, Ramsey
Chamberlain, Cazorla, Alexis

subs: Ospina, Debuchy, Gibbs, Chambers, Arteta, Giroud, Campbell.

Newecastle have also made three changes; with Sissoko, Thauvin and Janmaat coming in for Obertan, Perez and Taylor, so whose new look team will come away with all three points?

    COYG good luck guys

    1. KickAssFan says:

This team excites me!!! NIce one Arsene.

      1. kenyanfan says:

cheer up forks.this is the best team we could very confident and exited.believe me we will slaughter this Newcastle utd..iam sorry to think that a time a these injuries are a blessing in far as Wenger is least its forces him to hive us a nice lineup and field players in their right positions …giroud will come in as a sub and will score

      2. Tristan says:

Giroud is not good enough. But Theo is worse.

        1. Tristan says:

Theo is not Kun. He can not play up front with his weapon – speed. Given the way aw plays, I would rather to swap theo for chichorita who has the killer instinct in box. Otherwise Giroud is the first choice unless we buy wc striker.

          1. Tristan says:

If boss wants to keep and play theo then we probably need add a felleni type player who can run into box and give aerial threat which make attacking dynamic.

    2. muda says:

@Arsenal add Ozil to this team in place of Ramsey/Santi and you have the best arsenal XI around. #COYG

      1. kenyanfan says:

clear penalty denied to arsenal…..did you know that on the last three games that we have lost against Newcastle we have had a red card in our side?

    3. SoOpa AeoN says:

Nonsense!………… 10 man Toons hold down arsenal for over 20odd mins…… WENGER OUT at Half time pls

  2. usama afc says:

    Ozil i miss him already….

  3. kenyanfan says:

fantastic team.I like this team.if it wins not,I clear Wenger out of confident of a big win.3-1.COYG..however,I would like Ramsey to partner Cow and give cazorla the no 10 role.

  4. Dan.M says:

This team isn’t gona wrk if we play slow tippy tippy football .. Need to play on the counter

Giroud ruins our conversion rate .. Joke of a striker

  5. Dan.M says:

Giroud gettin slaughtered on bt sports .. Finally 3 seasons so late

    Need a new striker

    1. 61 never again says:

Give it a rest mate it’s all about the game that’s on

    2. DaveJay says:

Absolutely blunt in attack. Bring on Giroud and watch him score.

    3. DaveJay says:

Say what you want aout Giroud but already we look better since he has come on.

  6. Twig says:

For the first time we’re playing with some proper balance this season. Ramsey back to central midfield and OX back to the wings. If Giroud is great against Newcastle, Walcott is even better. #7-3

  7. immanuel says:

What a fantastic team selection. There’ll be a flurry of goals & no joke of a “hold up play”… & with that gab-kos partnership i’ve so long desired. COYG

  8. Twig says:

It seems our best performance so far this season will be forced by injuries. With Arsenal, this usually happens (e.g. Arteta injury forced us to recall the best DM in Europe back to London). Yes, I’m convinced we’ll play better than previous 3 games today, COYG.

  9. vijaygunner says:

wow! finally wingers on the wing lets smash em

  10. Jim A says:

Watch when Cech delivers a goal kick. I hope Theo doesn’t try to gain possession. Don’t want an injury to him.

  11. Uzi Ozil says:

I like this line-up. Hopefully, OX and Walcott rises to the occasion….. Exciting to see Gabriel and KOS in that defense. C’mon Arsenal! We need this 3pts.

  12. Ks-Gunner says:

Would you believe that. Ramsey is a true love child in the club. Kinda a bit speechles, but okay, at least everyone is playing where they are supposed to play. Lets see if Ramsey stays true to his poz and doesnt neglect his poz.

Now that Wenger knows that Giroud up front doent promise goals, he likes to put a player who can score some up front somehow. That the reason we saw Ramsey on the wings, and mixing himself all over the pitch. But that didnt quit happened as Ramsey is to wastefull.

Plan B. is this. He puts Cazorla now up front and hopes that he will start soon to score the goals. Chamberlain has also a good chance to make his mark.

Plan C. will be this. Ozil will be used soon again on the wings, and maybe Sanchez will play the his role, or him being put up front as a Striker.

Wenger instead of simple getting what is needed in the team, repeats his fiasco in changing poz, so somehow the team starts to tick again. Coyg

    1. Ks-Gunner says:

pardon, i didnt saw walcott up front, i hope he can bang some goals in today. Kinda surprised with Wenger today.

      1. Ks-Gunner says:

pardon, i am douche, for not reading the article first. lol.

      2. gooner100 says:

Lol so far up your own….

  13. vijaygunner says:

Sanchez, theo and chambo? this game needs mesut!!! get well soon.

  14. GunningSoulman says:

Ransey needs to be benched. He gives the ball away all the time

  15. Justsoccerfan says:

Only 5 mins Ramsey already make 2 silly pass.

    1. Charlie Nick says:

Get off his back…he’s a real goal threat from midfield which we need.

      1. galaxygooner says:

And you think scoring goals is the main task for him in that position?

  16. Fatboy Gooney says:

Hey! Who said Wenger doesn’t read the comments on
    JustArsenal. Com ?

  17. El Blaze says:

A much better line up than the Liverpool game, Ozil would have made it more deadly but Carzola can do the job as well. At least thank God Wenger had the sense not to play Ramsey on the wings!

  18. Charlie Nick says:

Someone explain how that’s not a penalty

  19. Justsoccerfan says:

If ozil is not injured do you all really think Ramsey won’t be on the wing, come on be real.

  20. gooner100 says:

Jeez the refs and linesmen are going to decide the prem this year. Liverpool v Bournemouth, our goal ast week, pen today…wtf!

  21. Charlie Nick says:

    Bye Bye you thug

  22. samgunner says:

pls can someone help me with live streaming site for the match pls…….

    1. john0711 says:

      World tv plus

  23. Ks-Gunner says:

    Dirty Serbian Bas*tard.

  24. Justsoccerfan says:

At least ref is on our side this time, is a good sign.

  25. plastik Fan says:

game over….Walcott hat trick as usual..

  26. plastik Fan says:

jeez is Newcastle the stoke of these season or what???

  27. Charlie Nick says:

Did you see that buffoon McClaren saying that Coq dived

  28. Bigvalbowski says:

A man up and no shots on goal.

Yeah Arsene you’ve got plenty of offensive weapons @ your disposal.

    So f#!$%&g predictable

    Btw, nice finish Theo

  29. PaddyGooner says:

Newcastle will defend now. Another 0-0 I fear?

  30. Demwan Jones says:

    Walcott has missed a sitter

  31. GoonAR says:

Andre Marriner is a clown… I have a terrible reception and am watching online and that was an obvious foul and penalty

  32. admin says:

Petr Cech playing a blinder so far!

  33. Mick The Gooner says:

Really how many chances have we had? Just one where Walcott tried slipping it beneath Krul. We need more. Alexis is playing like a central midfielder. Get forward man!!

  34. gunnerman8701 says:

I think we miss Ozil and Theo needs to be more clinical

  35. Demwan Jones says:

These players need to learn how to release the ball on time wtf

  36. Just_Trolling says:

When Ozil does not play it just shows how plain our attack it.

  37. Bigvalbowski says:

Get Ramsey the F off, take Ox with you.

    1. Charlie Nick says:

      Calm down mate haha

      1. Bigvalbowski says:

Im actually pretty calm, just so tired of these two repeatedly loosing the ball and playing the wrong passes.

  38. Charlie Nick says:

Monreal is turning into one of our most reliable players

  39. PaddyGooner says:

Why are we so slow? Why dont the players try to run into space? Why do we hold on to the ball for so long?

    1. Just_Trolling says:

      Ask Wenger.

  40. Charlie Nick says:

    Geordie scum….not the brightest

    1. RSH says:

exactly. We finally have a wide player yet he doesn’t stay wide and just gives the ball away. You also have to question the instructions Ox is given.

  41. Me says:

This Arsenal side is the poorest I have seen for many years.

Others had less talent but all of the had more fight and spirit than this side.

Half time and they are awful – playing ten men we should at least be putting them under some pressure.

If you cannot motivate your players Mr Wenger then it is time for you to move on…

  42. Mick The Gooner says:

Giroud on. Need someone to feed the ball into and be a target man in the box. Walcott is too small and his pace is useless against a deep defence like less.

  43. GunningSoulman says:

We dont shoot, we dont create any chances……hmmmm….

  44. Ks-Gunner says:

This Arsenal is crying for a top striker. I dont get Newcastle at all. Very Dirty.

Ozil is important to this team bec of this. Teams tend to park the buss against a lot, and Walcott is not a player for such games.

Arsenal main problem again are goals. We are not scoring goals at all.

    1. Bigvalbowski says:

It really isn’t difficult to see why Arsenal struggle as much as they have recently going forward. Even with Ozil pulling the strings and the addition of a Cavani or Benzema upfront Arsenal will still neglect the flanks and clog the midfield with there poor mans Barcelona ticky tack crap. Le Prof will continue to champion this brand of boring and quite ineffective soccer, but hey at times against relegation quality squads Arsenal will be pleasing to the eye. Maybe the Nevilles of the pundit futbol world are right about Wenger and this Gunners squad?

It pains me to be this indifferent about the Gunners, usually a half full type of dude.

  45. Ronny331 says:

Arsene buy another striker Walcott lacks commitment in the challenge and his tip round the post should have taken with his left foot. 140K/week and so NOT clinical.
Hope he scores in the 2nd half to shut me up!
Giroud on please, may be worth giving Campbell the nod late in the game.

  46. Kay123 says:

Why do people actually think Theo Walcott can do a better job than Giroud up front,,,,, he has no strength and his finishing is Inconsistent, and sometimes makes stupid runs

    1. gooner100 says:

Agreed but Newcastle being down to 10 ain’t helping his style of play. They’re sitting deep and Theo’s best asset is to run onto a through ball.

      1. RSH says:

And thats the ONLY thing theo is useful for. Why play Theo at all when the odds are we are going to boss the possession of the game? There was no reason at all to drop Giroud in the slightest. He wasn’t bad against Liverpool. He was an effective target that only got one real chance. Only blind haters will say he was at fault. I’m not Girouds biggest fan but I dont blame him for everything.

        1. Bigvalbowski says:

          $130K a week?

          1. Just_Trolling says:

Sell Theo and OG and we can afford Cavanis salary.

            1. Just_Trolling says:

What im saying is 250k is alot, it will blow our wage structure, but why pay 250k to waste easy chances, should just pay for a wc ST atleast the money wont be wasted.

        2. gooner100 says:

      2. Kay123 says:

Whenever he does latch on to a pass he either panics because of the time he has or he gets too erratic then gets shoved off the ball…..

  47. RSH says:

I dont like Giroud, but I’m not dumb enough to think Walcott was a real striker at any point in his Arsenal career. Get the clown off and Giroud on. Giroud would’ve put that chance away and you all know it.

  48. Ronny331 says:

Hig tempo and good pessesion initially and as soon as it goes to 10 men Arsenal players all drop the intensity, so frustrating!

  49. Leader says:

Definitely we are missing Ozil and the ball is not releasing properly.

  50. levilove says:

I maintain Ramsey s more of a curse than a blessing…no10 role is nt jes fr him.He shud stick more to keeping d midfield together n his defensive input…Walcott still nt convincing enough…jes need som1 exciting up front for once…not jes speed of even hold up play…itz gotten us this far, need sth diff yet again…And som1 pls tap Ox, the game s started!

  51. Fatboy Gooney says:

Surely we will score when Newcastle are down to 8 men ?
Come back Giroud. .. all is forgiven ??

  52. john0711 says:

Offere Barca Ramsey plus 70m for Suarez

    1. Ks-Gunner says:

he is better then bale afterall

  53. Bruno woods says:

    Chia..we are so screwed up…

  54. Charlie Nick says:

Well done Mariner…yellow for that? Let the crowd decide….

  55. Bruno woods says:

watch NewC gets a Penalty soon and Arsenal will wake up

  56. PaddyGooner says:

Ox, why doesnt he look up and pass.

  57. Demwan Jones says:

    Goal, chamberlain

  58. Ronny331 says:

Get in!! Thank god for that!

  59. PaddyGooner says:

Thank God for that. Even if it took 3 shots.

  60. Mick The Gooner says:

Own goal but geez we finally actually scored. That was a rocket from Ramsey first though, whew.

  61. Charlie Nick says:

Ramsay made that goal with the initial shot…quite all you Aaron haters

  62. PaddyGooner says:

And ox’s shot was going wide

  63. Bruno woods says:

Even though they scored . i still maintain something is really wrong with Arsenal players not wenger

  64. Ks-Gunner says:

The world be like. Arsenal needs a new striker. Wenger be like. No, no. other teams will score for us.

  65. Mick The Gooner says:

This season we’ve had more own goals in our favour than actual goals. Don’t need a striker?

    1. Bigvalbowski says:

Only one man in the entire world of Arsenal football that believes were set in that department, sadly hes the only twat that makes the decisions. Oh to be a dictator 4 just a day.

  66. Lethal Prince 9 says:

Why is it the fact that New castle after playing a brilliant game against top team fails to perform against Arsenal?

  67. FT says:

Now that we’re 1:0 up there’ll be loads of “fans” on saying how great certain players are after slagging them off beforehand

    1. gooner100 says:

      As they always do.

  68. Demwan Jones says:

So only giroud has scored for us so far

  69. DennisTheMenace says:

pathetic display from the team…. looks like the team is devoid of any plans

  70. plastik Fan says:

bad thing with defending with 9 players in the box and your manager is not called mourinho

  71. fred cowardly says:

I don’t care How the goal is scored as long as there is a 1 in front of Arsenal

    0-1 Arsenal

    COYG ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  72. Lethal Prince 9 says:

Good through ball from Kos to initiate the attack.

  73. ritblitz says:

What a boring match to watch….

  74. Lethal Prince 9 says:

What has happened to Sanchez though? Giving so many balls away. He will start to become from hero of the season to the villain of the season.

  75. Hafiz Rahman says:

    Time for a change!!

    Wenger must go!!

    1. Charlie Nick says:

      Oh no….you’ve woken up

      1. Hafiz Rahman says:

        1. Charlie Nick says:

but its the SAME comment as always

          1. RSH says:

            doesnt make it not true

        2. Lethal Prince 9 says:

          What does that mean?

        3. gooner100 says:

If you can’t enjoy us winning then I don’t know why you bother being a fan….#hafiz out

  76. Charlie Nick says:

Someone should give Schteve McClaren a schlap

  77. RSH says:

I know Ox took the shot that led to the goal, but to be honest he’s been trash this game…

  78. ritblitz says:

Theo and his supporters are happy with the SALARY and are set for a few years///

  79. Darlingbudsofarse says:

Man of the match so far for me is Coquelin. The rest are passengers especially The Ox and Walcott. Too much talk and yet no action! At this rate we are in trouble if we don’t go and spend some of that supposed ยฃ200M. This is against a Newcastle 10men NOT Chelsea, Man City or Man united for goodness sake!!!

    1. Charlie Nick says:

I think Ramsay MOTM so far…some good runs/passes/involved in the goal.
Agree that we need to buy

  80. Charlie Nick says:

    Sorry Theo…very poor today

    1. ritblitz says:

why sorry…it is true most of the times.

  81. Lethal Prince 9 says:

Giroud in for Walcott? What has Ox done to own that wing?

  82. Mick The Gooner says:

Ox has been so clumsy today. Can’t control the ball at his feet, heavy touches, overrunning it. Not a good day for him but we all know he’s better than that.

  83. Ks-Gunner says:

    World class Giroud.

  84. Kay123 says:

  85. Lethal Prince 9 says:

Great back heel by Collocini. Thanks.

  86. Hafiz Rahman says:

For the sake of the club…

    Wenger please go!!

  87. joeboy says:

Classic giroud shooting there ?, walcott has also highlighted the need for a world class striker he is too inconsistent infront of goal. Gabriel has looked good again today though

    1. Hafiz Rahman says:

Gabriel is not ready he should go on a loan and player regularly to adapt first….

      1. Charlie Nick says:

        1. gooner100 says:

You’re suprised? Hafiz comments are always ridiculous.

      2. joeboy says:

Gabriel is better then mertesacker, at least hes mobile and won everything in the air today and wasnt a coward like mertesacker is at times

  88. Lethal Prince 9 says:

WTF? When Walcott was there, no space provided by Newcastle. Suddenly Giroud comes up, lots of space provided. I see what you did there McClaren….

    1. Justsoccerfan says:

Cos they don’t fear Giroud at all.

  89. arsenalvienna says:

a lineup without รถzil is a good lineup for me

    1. Justsoccerfan says:

You shoud watch golf, you just don’t know the beauty of football.

  90. Lethal Prince 9 says:

Coquelin to go for a goal or assist.

  91. This is what happens when you don’t give your players enough game time, Walcott and OX have not been at their best, but can you blame them, they played a few minutes on the 3 previous games and we expect them to come rambling, this being said today’s game just proved one thing WE NEED A STRIKER

  92. kenyanfan says:

this is funny… we can’t even score a goal against ten ? since the season began its four games and arsenal players are yet to score.benefiting from own goals

  93. Lethal Prince 9 says:

Newcastle venting out frustration on referee…

  94. DennisTheMenace says:

after seeing the game i think we need 11 new players to win the league

  95. Justsoccerfan says:

I don’t mind with this ugly win, 3pts into international break will be good.

  96. Ronny331 says:

Yawn!! But I’ll take a 1-0 win and 3 points.
Wenger go into the market, please!

  97. Charlie Nick says:

Coquelin played well, like how he just brushed off these fouls…tough wee guy

  98. reddb10 says:

no matter who we play, what the score is and how many men the other team have on wenger only has one game plan.
This is not the way a team who wants to challenge for the PL play.

  99. Ks-Gunner says:

Fakk back off to france you useless shet. What a miss.

Poor game from Arsenal once again. Not even a 4th place performance it was today. We need to buy asap.
