Official Arsenal team to face Angers and live stream update

Arsenal has announced the team to face Ligue 1 outfit Angers and it is more or less the B team.

There is no Alexandre Lacazette who picked up an injury against Lyon at the weekend and no Aubameyang either.

There is however a place for underfire Shkodran Mustafi who will partner Calum Chambers at the centre of defence.

Gabriel Martinelli, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah are all starters which means we will be seeing a lot of pace in the game.

And Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac are not involved following the attempted car-jacking

Anyway, here is the team

The game is live on pay-tv channel Premier Sports TV and kicks off at 18.30 UK time.

Links will be put in the comments where to watch the game live and free so keep checking in.

Also, if you go to the official Arsenal website you will be able to get live commentary text

  1. Admin Martin says:

Here is the first link for you all

  2. X says:

Seems Chambers starts at RB, Medley and Musti the CB pairing

  3. Sean Williams says:

About to watch BUT Mustafi. Arghhhhhhhhh. nooooooooo.

  4. NONNY says:

Seems like fans are still waiting for pepe’s announcement
seems like it is still afternoon in London

    1. Dan kit says:

Remember the ITK know everything though?

      1. NONNY says:

I believe there most be a mix up, I think the deal has been announced just that the media is always late on announcement

        1. RSH says:

Most of the time these people are guessing These guys have a source that is going to tell them the exact time and day Arsenal will post about Pepe? Don’t think so.

  5. NONNY says:

    Defense 1:0 attack

  6. Innit says:

    Our defence sucks.
Pepe, Cellabos and Tierney isn’t enough. United, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool and Spurs have better defence than we do and that could mean the difference between being in Europa League and Champions League

    1. NONNY says:

Did you mean a repeat of last season

  7. Break-on-through says:

Is Burton the kid that was let go at Arsenal but then we changed our mind and took him back. I was reading about one of the younger players, felt rejected at time but then after being brought back he works twice as hard as anyone, and is said to have a strong mental preparedness due to the experience. It made me think of Kane, how he must have felt, and he too was said not to be as naturally talented as some others but made up for it in other ways.

  8. Bur says:

Not impressed. Defence frailties on display. Very dull and none dramatic.

    1. Welbeck says:

Yeaaaaaah, same old same old, but that’s not our first choice defence. Martinelli looks good though.

  9. Le Coq Monster says:

Asano has left for £1M……… be paid in 3 instalments !………..we`re rolling in it ! hahaha

Rumour has it Bielik is going to Derby for nearly £10M.

As for this match…am I the only one who thinks we`ve someone who Mustafi looks more comfortable than……….Medley !……………..and where the f##k is Saka ?

    1. ArsenalWhy says:

“to be paid in 3 instalments” hahaha good one. If it works why not.

    2. RSH says:

What a pointless transfer that was. We paid more for him. Lmao. Can’t imagine anybody in Japan actually cared to buy his shirt either.

  10. GB says:

We’ve been run ragged in the first half by Angers.
Poor defending, slow in midfield and no cohesion up front.
    Sound familiar?

  11. avenger says:

This is not my Arsenal only a bunch of hard legs

  12. NONNY says:

    Defense 1:1 Attack

  13. NONNY says:

    Reiss Nelson = 1

  14. Hardave Singh says:

Why did we sell Jeff rain Adelaide?

    1. RSH says:

because he stunk every time he got a chance.

      1. Hardave Singh says:

When exactly did he get a chance? I watch all arsenal games he hardly played two games for us.

        1. RSH says:

he’s played in cup matches which is when you need to take your chance. He did not.

      2. GunnerJack says:

Jeff Reine Adelaide – best player from Arsenal’s academy tonight.

    2. Diogenes says:

      Because he’s French.

Similarly talented English players are still with us.

      1. RSH says:

Yup, Arsenal have a long history of hating French players. What a comment. And maybe most of our English youth are still with us because most of our youth ARE English because Arsenal is located IN ENGLAND!

        1. Diogenes says:

Don’t be a fool. And who said ‘hated’. If you don’t understand simple English, maybe you would do better on a site that uses your native tongue.

Arsenal had always kept top quality French players, but vast majority of mediocre players who stayed for years and years – Walcott, Chambers, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Oxlade, perhaps even Wilshere to some extent – to name a few, were English.

And I didn’t imply it was abnormal, just how things work.

          1. RSH says:

Your post is silly. We have deadwood right now that are foreigners, and we’ve had deadwood in the past that have been foreigners. You just been caught talking complete nonsense. Take your loss and walk away.

  15. Oyama says:

Just wondering if you partner a youngster like Medley with clown like Mustafi what is he going learn there? If we want the youngsters to learn and develop please let’s rather pair them with sensible players

    1. Declan says:

Mustafi was so much better than Medley tonight, did you even watch the game?

  16. rkw says:

the only thing i learnt is that if mustafi and xhaka start against serious opposition we will be in trouble and most of the youngsters are far from epl ready … cabellos a must starter in middle of park with torreira .. need a LB and CB for sure … so tierney and dare i say cahill for a season

    1. GunnerJack says:

Thought Xhaka had one of his better games tonight. Never thought I’d be saying that.
Unfortunately Guendouzi doesn’t seem to have come on from last season and maybe not fit but still disappointing he’s making same mistakes, especially being too slow when he has the ball and getting caught in possession. Cannot afford that in his position – just puts more pressure on the defence.

      1. rkw says:

not sure what that means other than he didnt give the game away … he slows the game down immediately establishes a culture of lateral and backward passing and creates no openings for forward line … but i agree guendouzi was poor … basically need 4 at the back with torreira and caballos in middle and a front four with pepe laca auba and ozil (or miki and ocassionally throwing in one of the young attacking wingers on the left) … but need to get LB and CB

  17. Bruce Lee says:

Perhaps Emery should drive the first team coach rather than coach the first team?

    1. GunnerJack says:

Well we’ve been asking him to give the youngsters a chance and he did so – pity most of them didn’t take advantage.

      1. ClassyGunner says:

They need a few more chances to settle down and show their potential. Never understood this mentality of writing-off someone based on 1 or 2 chances.
