Official Arsenal team to face Barcelona and live stream update

As expected Arsenal have put out as strong a team as they could from the travelling squad.

This will be a strong test for the much-maligned Arsenal defence though the likes of Lionel Messi are not expected to feature despite being named in their squad.

It is good to see Ozil back but no place as of yet for Kolasinac following their harrowing ordeal at the hands of car jackers.

Lucas Torreira starts on the bench and Joe Willock retains his place in the middle of the park.

Anyway, this is the team that Unai Emery is starting with.

The game is live on pay-tv channel Premier Sports TV and kicks off at 19.00 UK time.

    1. Just hope we don’t start the Premier League on a bad note. I’m I the only one uncomfortable with Chambers as CB? Still think Mustafi will do better if he’s under less pressure.

      1. I feel that in the CB spot Mustafi is indeed slightly better than Chambers. His tackling is definitely better and positioning at least marginally, but both are prone to marking errors and Mustafi to other kinds of errors. I truly feel that if Kos goes, we should loan a CB from the EPL unless Mavropanos gains trust of Emery (and regular fitness).

        Maybe Chambers can surprise us, though, like Holding last year?

    2. I don’t think Emery would use Chambers as a CB in Newcastle. Perhaps Mustafi would start

      Maybe Ozil would also be replaced by Ceballos

    3. We’ll see if Lacazette is fit. If not, the front three will look very different. Shame that is the best defense we have.

    Willock will only beam with more confidence as he features more in the starting line up.

  8. I have no idea why Mkhitaryan continues to be picked.Particularly when Ozil is also on the pitch.Surely Guendouzi,Ceballos or Torreira should be picked in preference.Once again Emery seems to have difficulty recognising his best options
    At the same time not taking Pepe to allow him some introductory game time is nothing short of negligence.
    Arsenal have a tough series of opening games and if we dont see any defined improvement in tactical approach and team selection then the writing has to be on the wall!

      Winning against Barcelona in an ordinary glorified friendly match is not a guarantee of 3 points against Toon Armies next week.

  10. It is good to have chambers fielded today against barca let him be skinned and that will be the end of him in the proper starting x1,only fit for the carabao cup

    1. Chambers has been decent so far. Only thing is his positioning/marking lacks confidence a bit of nous. Also, Barca’s attack has been really weak in the first half.

      It’s Xhaka in the team that worries me more. He’s been abysmal.

  17. ..Ozil’s assist – Auba doing what he does best …say what you will but our offence is something to be proud of. Pity the same cannot be said of our haphazard defence (at least not yet).

    *Ozil will have so many options this coming campaign. Just like every season (and despite all our past woes) I’m a believer #COYG

      Mkhi and Xhaka have been atrocious.
      Nelson either leaves it someone else to do something – Monreal, for instance – or tries to shoot – curl it in the far corner. Mediocre so far.

      Continually impressed by Willock. I think Willock, Guendouzi, and Ceballos should all be picked ahead of Xhaka.

      And AMN is improving defensively. He’ll be a good enough option as a RB (even if I feel he could be a box-to-box player).

  20. Our midfielder 3 against newcastle should be Xhaka Mkhitaryan and Ceballos ozil is just too lazy

  22. Gotta be happy for our young guns – says a lot when one minute you’re playing in the french lower leagues the next your playing at Nou Camp stadium – let’s hope these gunners grow with the experience. I expect A-MN to be put under more pressure this 2nd half – I have 2-0 win and a 1-1 draw.

    Can explode at any time just like Niles have exploded to give barca Ann equaliser.
