Official Arsenal team to face Brighton – Aubameyang starts

This game today against Brighton is just as important, if not more so than the recent game against Chelsea simply because anything less than a win this evening will not only be a huge step backwards but also totally undermine the great win over Frank Lampard’s men.

Brighton have won just a single game at home this year and under normal circumstances, you would think that gives Arsenal a great advantage, the problem is, that win was against Arsenal.

Brighton is in trouble and will be just as determined to pick up three points today as what Arsenal are and that makes for a really intriguing match up.

That said, the lads really should be leaving the AMEX with all three points.

Has Mikel Arteta got his team selection right for the game against the Seagulls this evening?

  1. More a case of Saka’s skill and determination along with a great finish than Arteta’s tactical nous. Let them play Michelle, let them play. Young Smith Rowe also demonstrated in the second half that he is the real deal and deserves to be in the starting lineup ahead of William, Auba etc.

  2. Thank God people are beginning to see my point of view about Auba, I was so disappointed to see him in the line up and I was not disappointed because he contributed nothing. He’s been uninterested since his contract which I warned against.
If Arteta will listen to advice, there is no way forward with Auba, Willian, Sokratis, Ceballos, Kolasinac and even Ozil . The future of Arsenal is I. Those young and hungry guns. And if he did what he did to Ozil, then the same measure should be used to deal with the rest. Ozil also had his own days of glory, so if he was dropped for football reasons, so should Auba and other underperforming seniors.

  3. This was the game I was most worried about.

    Fair Play to the players.

Next game is just as hard: Sam Allardyce will want a reaction to the Leeds thrashing.

Happy New Year in advance to all Gooners and all here @ JA.
