Official Arsenal team for Watford has NO Cech and no changes

Arsene Wenger is clearly desperate for Arsenal to pick up from where we left off at Goodison Park a couple of weeks ago, when the away win over Everton saw the Gunners finally get the Premier League challenge going in the right direction again. Because even though our Czech Republic international keeper Petr Cech is fit enough for a place in the match day squad today, the boss has not brought him back into the starting line up.

In fact he has not made a single change from the side that beat the Toffees, even though Alexis Sanchez arrived back late from a long haul flight back from South America and Olivier Giroud got his confidence and form going by scoring for the France national team.

So our breakthrough young forward Alex Iwobi will start once again on the right flank with Danny Welbeck in the middle and Alexis on the left, giving the Arsenal front line plenty of pace and energy and with Mesut Ozil pulling the strings behind them they should get plenty of chances. Let´s just hope someone finishes one nice and early to settle the team and the home fans down.

That first goal could be crucial so Coquelin and Elneny have an important job to do in protecting the back four while also setting the tempo of the game from the central areas, while we need no mistakes from Gabriel, Koscielny and the full backs.

Ospina
Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal
Coquelin, Elneny
Iwobi, Ozil, Sanchez
Welbeck

Subs: Cech, Gibbs, Mertesacker, Chambers, Walcott, Giroud, Campbell

Will Arsenal get revenge on Watford and keep the dream alive?

    1. No assist or goal for our no. 10 in our last game and so far none , hope he gets atleast an assist for his loyal followers on here. IWOBI is a superstar , direct and with ambition and love for the TEAM , dats what i want from all our players and Sanchez well he is a bit one sided , but Does his best for the TEAM any day, tym and situation .. And ohh hez got an assist and a goal same as in the last match..

  1. Hahaha ?
Where is everybody lol ? ?
Looks as if Everyone is taking this boycott thing abit too far!

    Come on Arsenal!!!

  2. you got something right today Wenger, team selection. you see, us fans aren’t that angry, just use common sense. don’t ruin this by making the subs though.

  3. So relieved international break is over☺

    Excellent team selection

Not playing Welbeck would have been crazy because he is scoring
Iwobi deserves a spot because he’s been superb. I would have been happy with Campbell as an alternative too.
Walcott and Giroud need to come off the bench. This will hopefully help them in the future but we need to start in form players like iwobi and Danny

Defence is good. Also back of cm is perfect with Eleney and Coquelin
Again Ramsey needs be on the bench as Eleney has played better

Only worry is Gabriel. Sometimes he can be good and sometimes poor

    But hopefully we win.
A loss and realistically we are OUT

  4. I said before the international break that Boss/Gab & Coq/Elneny is a great Defensive Unit for the run in along with Welbz&Iwobi alongside Ozil&Alexis. Glad he has stuck with the team that makes sense and is playing well…

Win today or its curtains lads for the title!

  5. I’m a little torn on Ospina playing. On the one hand, he kept a clean sheet against Everton, so he’s earned a place to start again. On the other hand, he hasn’t done anything particularly brilliant to displace Cech as No. 1. So I’m guess Wenger is just waiting for him to concede a goal so he has an excuse to drop him for Cech. Weak management, or rewarding success?

  6. IWOBI!!!

Yep. Iwobi, Alexis, Ozil and Welbeck are the attack that should start every remaining match

  7. i hate to say it, but cmon liverpool… i cant live w the thought of spuds winning the league, they need to drop points today,

    1. Honestly he is better than ozil if we would be completely honest. But as Gunners who support our no. 10

      1. i really can not be convinced of that, sorry, when he lifts silverware at the bernabeu i will consider,

      2. LOL, Payet is good but take a chill pill.
        Ozil 5 goals 18 assists
        Payet 8 goals 8 assists.
I won’t even bother pulling up more stats.

  8. Great way to end the game. Another great pass from Ozil, good assist for Campbell and good goal from Walcott.

  9. Great play by Iwobi, Sanchez, Ozil, El Neny, Bellerin, Ospina and solid play from others. At the risk of being overly critical, I got the sense by the 60th minute that Arsenal were satisfied in spite of being way behind of the top 4 on goal difference.

Good call on subs by Arsene but Walcott and Giroud seem so lazy and uninterested to me. They’ve been rightfully benched yet showed no grit or energy to bang more goals in despite being the freshest legs on the pitch. Contrast them with Campbell, whose enthusiasm and hustle laid a goal on a plate for Walcott.
