OFFICIAL Arsenal XI at Everton – Ramsey and Ozil IN

Arsene Wenger would have been hoping that he could bring Danny Welbeck back into the starting line-up for Arsenal today, as the England forward has been in good form so far this season and his pace and power would have been ideal for this away clash with struggling Everton, but Wellbz has not won the race to be fit in time.

There was better news for the boss ahead of this must win match, though, with both Aaron Ramsey and Lauremnt Koscielny making themselves available to strengthen our central midfield and the injury hit defence.

Cech
Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal
Bellerin, Xhaka, Ramsey, Kolasinac
Alexis, Ozil, Lacazette

subs: Macey, Wilshere, Giroud, Walcott, Holding, Iwobi, Coquelin

With Monreal on the other side of Mertesacker Arsenal should be much harder to breach and with Ozil in front of Ramsey and Xhaka we should be able to create a lot more chances for Alexis Sanchez and Lacazette up front, with the flying wing backs Bellerin and Kolasinac to add even more pace and penetration.

It is a strong Gunners side but what is more important is that they approach the game in the right way. A fast start and giving the under pressure home team no easy way to raise the Everton fans’ morale is a must and I feel that an early goal could lead to a fair few more.

A poor start, though, and we could be in trouble. COYG.

    1. 1st time this we will see alexis, lacazette ozil front-line start a match. Give the man one last chance, if he flops again might as well release him now. took wenger 9 match to play our best attackers together if we win easily it will prove how much he has regressed as a coach.

    2. aaaaargh ! Sick and tired of weak mentality of this Arsenal team… should be 3-0 up in first 10 minutes and first shot on goal Everton score from !!!
Yet another sloppy piece of play by our so called CDM Xhaka.. !
Everton is worst form of all teams and Arsenal gift them a goal… if they had scored any of first 3 shots Everton would have folded

  1. alexis ozil lacazette…
    the people have been heard….

still jack would have been interesting…sub in second half perhaps

xhaka …huge game for him. he has cost us an wenger spending on him stupidly has to justify the money spent by playing him regardless.
he needs a huge game …he has been dreadful

    1. Xhaka does not deserve to be in the lineup more than anyone. As bad as Ozil is at least awe can say form is temporary class is permanent though he also does not deserve to start. Why is Coquelin not playing instead of Xhaka?Even Elneny is a better buy than Xkaka.I don’t care what kind of performance Xhaka has today. Why should a player be allowed to go off form and still be in the starting eleven while other players should be taking his place?Poor management from.Wenger.It’s not fair at all.Mark my words that Xhaka won’t last in the lineup when Wenger is gone and I can see some youngsters like Maitland-Niles and Kelechi Nwakali surpassing him in the future. The guy can’t defend to even save his own life.

      1. Lol
Wenger doesn’t even have to go for him to be benched but Wenger is a useless blind Bird

Any sane teen-ager can see that xaka is useless, what more a supposed world class manager…

You people in uk should please visit the Emirates to ask what exactly xaka does for Arsenal aprat from assisting the other teams score

  2. I like this lineup
Because of defensive injuries it’s not our best but looks more than enough to beat Everton

Been waiting to see Ozil, Alexis, lacazette with Xhaka and Ramsey behind them

    Looking forward to it

    COYG

    1. Xhaka is average regardless of today’s performance.Elneny is a better buy.Go and compare both in their first season.

  3. it’s another game and Ozil has been given another chance. so I’m willing to put his Watford performance behind me. And hope he turns up today.

With this attack I’ll be so happy if we could get 5 to 7 goals…
But hey, I’m human, I’m allowed to dream.
    Goodluck guys

  4. Xhaka classic as always. Liability all season, this guy has single handedly lost us atleast 3 to 5 points imo. Wenger will never, i repeat NEVER change his ways and will continue playing our non-performers until we are the next Everton.

  5. Yes struggling Everton! Still good enough to beat useless Arsenal.
Here we go again laim excesses from weegor.

  6. No problem Admin if you won’t allow honest comment and don’t respect others I’m done with this website bye

  7. Mert is morte-never been good.Should of been released after first season.Every year we are loosing 3-5 games just because of him.Wenger’s stubbornness is truly amazing.Watch how West Ham will transform under Mancini.

  8. Everyone having a go at Xhaka, but no mention to the idiot mertesacker who plays it to him with three opposition players surrounding him instead of playing it wide.

  9. To be fair though, that foul on Xhaka looked similar to the one on Ozil, which went Everton’s way as well

  10. Xhaka has single handedly cost us 5 goals already. He can’t be dropped because Wenger paid 35 mils for him and Wenger would rather burn this club down rather than admit he bought a big money flop

  11. Now this is the real arsenal beautiful attacking football, ozil very good and the atrocious defense. A flashback to the old arsenal, had enough of xhaka gave him many chances and he flops. Mertesaker not in fault blocked the right side forced Rooney to shoot left, coquelin and Ramsey would be far better axis.

    1. Just put an arsenal shirt on gueye at half time, suit our style of play far better than xhaka. Xhaka is a mourinho player suited for tough counter attacking style.

  12. They are playing aggressive with us, we have to respond, trouble is that the ref allows their aggression, but not ours

  13. Fcuk me … unless wenger goes shortly we might be in bottom half by Xmas … a team that prided itself on mid field quality has none

  14. There is no way Chaka can come back after half time .. he is a permanent accident waiting to happen … Wilshire on

  15. Mert shares just as much blame as xhaka for that goal. Ozil looks like hes pulling his weight which is good. We need to get laca more involved (not taking him off at 60′)

    1. Xhaka called for the ball in the way he came for it. He had players behind him, all he had to do is know who he intended to give it to, but he didn’t intend to give it to anyone, he asked for the ball in a bad situation and then dallied on it. He should have known exactly what was around him and he should have given it towards Cech first time. That was all on Xhaka, Mert is the CD out of position yet Xhaka calls for the ball with markers on him, he’s a little dim to be honest.

  16. Need a win
    No excuses

    Should be 3 up already
    Pickford looks a keeper

Xhaka looks …second season aswell .
No excuses he is losing us games

  17. Ozil excellent … lacazettes movement excellent … Sanchez a bit rusty but always a threat …. bellerin has been poor again and mert and Chaka make for soft spine with no compensation in terms of forward pressure …. team remains unbalanced but st least the football was good to watch

    1. I think Kos is better when playing left side to Mert, that was their thing. But Monreal can only play left side and Mert and Kos don’t look the same swapping sides.

  18. i think the focus, commitment and determination shown by monreal since becoming a gunner is remarkable – much appreciation to you nacho; far as i see you seems you always try. #COYG

  19. …it’s a bit ironic singin ‘sacked in the mornin” to koemans wen many of us would like to see also wenger changed/sacked in the morning too: ???

  20. FS, Wenger, leave Lacazette to it ffs. He needs the time to adapt to our play more, this is his first game with Ozil and Alexis. You done the same with Oxlade and look how that turned into a mess, you had Oxlade feigning tiresome whenever that certain minute came up. You are a bloody meddler.

  21. Wilshere still has it. Past 3 games hes been nothing but influential in our play. I hope he live up to his dream playing for us a whole season no injuries. You can tell he love this club

  22. Cech should be fined a week’s wages for that, the ball back was slow but Cech showed the most care free attitude and an arrogance. Disgusting way to end a serious PL game.

  23. Looking at the interview afterwards, I think Mr Mertesacker is doing more behind the scenes, than just what he’s doing on the pitch
