OFFICIAL confirmed team for Arsenal v Bayern Munich

So the big day arrives and Arsenal will need to have an amazing performance at the Emirates tonight against the German Champions Bayern Munich if they are going to salvage some pride from this tie, and maybe reduce the pressure on our manager Arsene Wenger.

The big talking point in Wenger’s team is that our returning hitman Danny Welbeck got injured before a ball was even kicked and Olivier Giroud makes an unusual start for the Gunners.

Alexis returns to the starting lineup as one of four changes for tonight’s meeting with Bayern Munich.

David Ospina starts in goal, with Aaron Ramsey stepping in to partner Granit Xhaka in central midfield.

Theo Walcott also returns to the starting line up, with Alexis leading our attack.

Elsewhere, Mesut Ozil has recovered from illness to replace Alex Iwobi (illness) on the bench.

Arsenal XI: Ospina, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Xhaka, Ramsey, Ox, Walcott, Giroud, Alexis
Subs: Cech, Gibbs, Gabriel, Lucas, Ozil, Coquelin

Let’s hope that this revised team plays a little better than our insipid performance against Liverpool at the weekend….
