Official team news and preview of QPR V Arsenal

Once again I am really surprised at the Arsenal team sheet handed in by Arsene Wenger for this Premier League away game against QPR. THeo Walcott once again is left twiddling his thumbs on the Arsenal bench, with Danny Welbeck alongside him.

Perhaps just as big a surprise is the fact that Per Mertesacker comes staright back into the team. It is Laurent Koscielny who the under fire German replaces, with Gibbs and Bellerin keeping their place in the full back positions.

With a massive FA cup game at OLd Trafford coming up and the likes of Cazorla, Ozil and Alexis having played a lot of games and minutes, I thought the manager might make a few changes but he has decided not to. So Tomas Rosicky c omes in as Ramsey only makes the bench.

Ospina
Bellerin, Mertesacker, Gabriel, Gibbs
Coquelin
Alexis, Cazorla, Rosicky, Ozil
Giroud

subs; Martinez, Chambers, Koscielny, Ramsey, Chamberalin, Walcott, Welbeck

It is an attacking line up from Wenger and a strong bench so I expect us to win this game. I just hope that our big stars do not then look jaded against Man United. Hopefully the Gunners will get a good halftime lead and then Wenger can rest Alexis and Santi.

  1. i expect a 2-1 win for us, it will be a tough game i think. wath for united, i guess they’ll drop points tonight at newcastle. we may can strenghten our 3rd place. and go there on monday and knock out them from FA cup at their ground. yeah, and also win the FA cup from then on. anyways, COYG

    1. I dont think wenger knows what rotation is, ozil and sanches have played bad two gmes in a row, put walcott in put , i think welbeck should play instead of giroud.
      but w.e. he’s the boss

  2. Kos could maybe use the rest, I expect us to control possession and Gabriel might be a bit more defensive than Kos so we should be fine with Mert.

    1. not understanding the fickle fans turning on per, but so far he has had a good match, as gabs may be out a while…

  3. I’m disappointed that Mertsacker is playing I would have preferred Koscielny and Gabriel or even Chambers and Gabriel. Mertsacker has played bad football recently. I hope he performs well tonight.

Other than that I’m fine with the lineup. I would have preferred Alexis and Walcott on the wings

    1-3 to us.

    1. Have you noticed Fred some on here thumb you down for anything, you only commented Kos instead of mert and you get thumbed down, obviously they don’t want Kos to play then idiots

      1. we are tured of fans turning on every player, now gabriel is hurt and your a$$es need per, sorry, per has earned too much respect as a gunner to deserve this crap,

  4. i feel like mertesacker relies on koscielny a lot, paulista is really going to have to be alert to do the jobs mertesacker simply cant do. Very interested to see if it will work but im feeling doubtful. Also would have loved to see the ox on the pitch again

  5. I would’ve preferred us to rest cazorla and kosc (which wenger is) so i hope cazorla works his as* off then wenger takes him out after 60 min or something for ox

      1. agreed. sanchez needs a rest too. but we don’t play for 5 days so wenger might think thats sufficient

  6. We should lock the rhino to our post or else it will wander into the other side and get stuck.

  7. We expect 3 points, Wenger knows why Koscielny has been rested today. I feel for Theo Walcott though, he needs to play. This game will be tough and Wenger may be forced to bring in someone in search for goals. GO GO ARSENAAAL!

  8. Cant believe Per is playing again, pe he doesn’t let us down. At least Kos knows he needs to cover his ar*e! Would have preffered Chambers and Gabriel.
What is going on with Walcott?
Schez not even on the bench? Family emergency is dolly out of the pram moment??

  9. why ozil is still starting???
we must put sanchez – cazorla together
4141 is much better now for us….

  10. As wenger said this pitch is small somewhat like Highbury. I suspect thats why ox and walcott or not pkaying in favour of our pass masters, (ozil, cazorla and rosicky) comes on boys pass and move, swift one touch football is what we need! Coyg!

  11. I will say again, arsenal is wasting Sanchez in the left, he is soo lonely, put him in the middle with cazorla and coquelin behind…. but…

  12. All this talk of Arsenal having one of the leagues best offensive teams is just rubbish. We are utterly clueless around the 18 yard box, trying to create the PERFECT goal.

    Brutal to watch

  13. the second half of the first half was fun. but it’s about time we get a goal into the back of the net.

  14. what was that mr. wenger ?, we can win the premier league title !. aw thanks a million you lying toerag .

    1. if you’re talking about the goal he missed he was being dragged down. Shoulda been a red + penalty.

  15. back.to 5th and fighting for 4th….same old shit….

juz look at past season.stats and this season stats will do

    time for a change….Wenger out

  16. If Zamora could pass any other way but sideways and QPR had any pace we would be probably be behind by now.

  17. Go on Wenger, say siomething.. For a moment I thought you would say something!

God damn. And the Mute manager award goes to..

  18. Well I did say we had weathered the
storm and would nick a win now.
I have also being saying we have
a very soft schedule and are cruising to 3rd place

  19. 7 WINS out of last 8 EPL matches, if we hold to the 2-0 lead, 21 of possible 24 pts, quite a run, maybe not time to slit our wrists,

  20. We did some good business last
    summer have signed Gabriel
    and a couple of youngsters.
    The injury issue is easing.
Out. Diaby Ryo Flamini Campbell Podolski
Chambers to cover CB + RB
If Cazorla and /or Monreal go their transfer fee will cover their replacements.
Even DM and striker look fine. We might not need to sign any one.

    1. its impossible for teams like City and Utd not to score…they have great firepower…

but its possible for us not to score
