Opinion: No one expected us to beat Liverpool, so let’s just move on

Arsenal has just lost to Liverpool in the Premier League. After beating them twice this year already, it is understandable that our fans expected another win, I did too.

But we have been beaten and it is shocking that some fans are bringing things up like Arteta made a mistake in his selection, and some are asking why he didn’t start Bukayo Saka.

Liverpool is the Premier League’s defending champions, they won the league title last season with 99 points.

They haven’t sold any of their important players, instead, they have strengthened their team.

No one expected us to win that game really. Even when we took the lead, it was a gift from them and completely against the run of play.

We might have gotten something from the game, but I believe that Arteta played the players that he thought would hurt Jurgen Klopp’s players.

Unfortunately, they beat us. We will face them again in the Carabao Cup, I expect us to win that game because Klopp should field a less strong side in the match.

For now, let us move on from feeling sorry for ourselves and calculating the changes or selections that might have saved the day for us.

It is going to be a long season and I trust our players to have learnt from that game ahead of the next one.
