Arsenal enjoyed an almost flawless Saturday evening, but the injury to Bukayo Saka tainted what was otherwise a fantastic day. The Gunners played host to Leeds United in their first home game of the new season and before kick-off, none other than Eberechi Eze was unveiled to a boisterous crowd at the Emirates. The England international donned the famous red and white and was all smiles during the presentation.
Saka injury sours a dominant display
Arsenal went on to cruise to a convincing 5-0 win against the newly promoted side thanks to braces from Jurrien Timber and Viktor Gyökeres, with Bukayo Saka also on the scoresheet. It was a perfect matchday for the Gunners, but the injury to Saka proved a big disappointment. The England international went off with what appeared to be a serious hamstring injury and his reaction suggested it could be an extended spell on the sidelines.
Mikel Arteta also hinted at the concern, saying: “We have to wait to understand how long he will be out. I have not spoken to the doctor yet but for Bukayo to come off, it is significant”.
Should Arsenal dip back into the market?
An official statement on the prognosis and timeline has not yet been released, but early indications suggest Saka could be sidelined for some time. With this in mind, and considering the club’s swift response to Kai Havertz’s knee injury, should Arsenal once again turn to the transfer market?
Eberechi Eze was snapped up following Havertz’s setback and while Arteta dismissed the connection, it would have influenced the decision. Given the inconsistencies of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli on the left, the Gunners may have to explore the forward market again. Reports have already linked Arsenal to Lyon’s Malick Fofana, while a loan move for Rodrygo has also been mooted in the final days of the window.
We will have to wait and see how long Saka is out for, but what do you think Gooners, should Arsenal consider another signing if his injury proves long term?

We are not desperate but Saka will me miss at Anfield, as the frustration at the Bernabeu continues for Arsenal target, the Brazilian name will always comes up.
Maybe some sorts of loan agreements can be iron out for Rodrygo, but I must admit Madueke looks lively in the absence of Saka yesterday
Madueke really did give some encouraging signs yesterday and I hope he is up to the task at Anfield. It seems like we just can’t play LP lately with all of our top line players healthy.
There is absolutely no need for us to contemplate recruiting another winger when we already have Martinelli, Trossard, Madueke, Nwaneri, and last ,but not least young Dowman who i suspect will eventually blossom as an attacking midfielder.From what i saw of the incidents ,i do not expect the injuries to Odegaard and Saka to be long term, but with Eze on board we have a top quality replacement for or Captain.
Aside from those wingers, we’ve also got Vieira who played RW

2 games in and we’re already without 5 players, plus Jesus from last season = 6.

Madueke and Nwanery are the only inverted adequate replacements for Saka plus the young Dowman.
Rodrigo from Madrid is good only as a left wing.
With Saka and Odegaard, Arsenal had become somewhat predictable. Going into the market now is not so desperate as we can still make do with what we have. If Noni can play on that right wing and either Martinelli or Trossard on the left then we’re good to go. The squad depth is encouraging this season

Plenty of cover now in the squad and let’s hope Saka is not too serious but certainly gives Madueke a chance as well as Dowman off the bench

Nwaneri should replace odedaarg next week, gradually we introduce Eze may be after first half .our bench are rich now. Noni is good in RW and max is super too. No need for panicking.

I don’t think we should resort to this knee-jerk reaction. The club has just spent £250m strengthening the squad presumably for exactly this type of situation.
If Arsenal “need” the likes of Rodrygo (with his big salary) then certainly we should attempt to get him, but not only because a player is injured at present.
Now, if we’re saying that the squad even after that huge investment isn’t up to it then surely we need to try and remove the deadwood (if possible) and replace them (if possible) with players that inspire more confidence. I admit that with just over a week left that’s not very likely, but …
For example, are the likes of Vieira and Lokonga, to name two, ready and, much more importantly, able to “fill in” effectively? I guess that they weren’t thought to be previously, were they?

I’ve just read on the BBC Website, that after having their scans, Odegaard and Saka injury’s are not as bad as first feared, and that their not long term injury’s.
Regarding Saka, apparently his injury is to his left leg not the right like last season.
For me even if they miss the Liverpool game, and then don’t go on International duty, hopefully they’ll be available for the first game of the return of the League.
For me it’s what they do for the club that should come above anything Internationally. Anyone else agree?.

Saka and Odergaard not badly injured.
I now read that Saka’s expected to be out up to 4 weeks. And They haven’t yet ruled Odegaard out of the Liverpool game.
Thankfully with the International break coming up, that hopefully means they won’t miss many League games.
Although that said, if Odegaard is missing for a game or two, it could indirectly be useful regards seeing some one else in his position. Because lets face it, had he stayed fit he would have played regardless of form.
But hopefully, the two of them will soon be available for selection.
