Ozil – Arsenal working hard and WILL get it right

The Arsenal and Germany international star Mesut Ozil is well aware that the Gunners are not at their best right now and he knows that the Arsenal fans are not happy after seeing the team slump to a second defeat in a row against a previously out of sorts Chelsea side.

But the talented play maker has also issued a rallying cry and promised that he and his Arsenal team mates will keep putting in the hard work on the training field in order to make sure that this situation does not carry on. As reported by the Evening Standard, Ozil used his facebook page to reassure worried Gooners and remind us that it is still very early days in the season.

He wrote, “Sometimes things don’t turn out the way you’d hoped or expected.

“The last two matches don’t reflect where we are standing as a team. We will focus on our practice even more now and prepare for the next big games!

“The season is still young…”

To be fair to the German, he has been doing his bit. Despite coming in for plenty of criticism, a Metro report a few days ago revealed that Ozil has created more chances in the Premier League during 2015 than any other player.

I have also done a stats comparison on Squawka.com between him, David Silva, Fabregas and Hazard for this season and it shows that Ozil is beating them all when it comes to chance creation and key passes. And he would be winning on assists as well if our strikers were finishing better.

But if Arsenal are putting in the work that Ozil says and he keeps creating, surely his words comments will be proved right and the Gunners will soon be back on track. What do you think?

  1. I have only been mildly disappointed by some recent match results. Arsenal still in good shape. I still look forward to every match.

I am, however, thoroughly disgusted with the EPL. Costa is an unrepentant psycho – anyone can see that. But Mourinho and Dean are the real problems here. They are both horrible human beings and pure poison to the league and football as a sport. Until they are both banned from the league there will not be a full return to football as primarily ON-PITCH entertainment for the fans. Right now it is just a disgusting circus on and off the pitch. And the league is content with putting a small bandage on the gaping wound.

    1. I haven’t had as sour a taste left after a game than on the weekend in a long time…
But the silver lining may well be that other refs in the league stand up, and take notice. Surely other referees don’t want to look as stupid as Dean did in the aftermath, and if as a result Chelsea’s ‘win at all costs’ mentality gets seriously punished it may turn out to be a good thing in the long run…

I still can’t believe more isn’t being done about the way they, as a team, handle referees though. It’s almost like a training drill the way certain players are immediately in the ref’s face while others shield opponents players away. Chelsea are a disgrace of a football club.

    2. @mohawk, that’s one annoying thing, okay now that costa is punished for what he did during our game, so now the question is WHERE IS OUR ROBBED 3 POINTS???????????????????????????

    1. Utd attack is formidable but their defense is very weak…

Unless we can score goals to offset or we will get hammered…

  2. Ronaldo Nazario celebrated his 39th birthday yesterday. Thumbs up if he was your favourite no. 9 ever, thumbs down if you’ve seen better 🙂

  3. There is no point in Ozil staying at Arsenal when you have Giroud as your main striker, it looks as if
Wenger is interested in Giroud’s career rather than Arsenal’s season. Lewandowski scoring 5 goals in 9 minutes will shake Wenger when he gets up in the morning cause he is world class ! When people thought Olympiakos would prove difficult for Bayern i became the opposite by a margin 3-0. Ozil may be right the season is young but the manager just does not cut it right.

  4. Ozil will create more assists with Theo as CF, but Theo has to learn the art of beating these offside traps…(its quite annoying how many times he gets caught offside)…he has the pace, to beat almost every CB in the PL, he should use it to his advantage.

  5. Ozil is our main man on the pitch,bt the only point of worry is that the accuracy and pace of our centre forward wl definitely define how talented ozil has been,i like the way ozil play,bt he ought to reduce delivering those important passes to our useless cf nd convert them to shots directly to the net pls,we must learn hw to shoot since we dnt hv a sharp nd pacy cf.SALISU DALHATU KWANKWASO.

  6. OT:Wenger divorcing his wife bcoz he didn’t keep his promise of quiting Football!why not quiting Arsenal Wenger?!
