Premier League ‘power rankings’ show Arsenal in top form

Arsenal are the most in-form side in the Premier League according to the ‘power rankings‘, with six players in the top 20.

The Gunners are in top form, having registered five consecutive league wins, and these results have helped us shoot up the PL table to third, to within two points of leaders Manchester City.

The power rankings have now been released following the weekend’s fixtures, revealing three Gunners in the top 10, and another three in the remainder of the top 20.

It will come as no surprise to fans that Alexis Sanchez is our highest performer at present, utilising his new centre-forward role increasingly well. He was only outdone by Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son, who was also converted to a central role in the weekend’s dominant win over Manchester City.

Laurent Koscielny completes the top three, with the defender not only bossing our defence, but showing why he why he a more than worthy stand-in captain, helping us to three clean sheets in his six appearances this term, scoring twice also.

Theo Walcott is next for our side sitting in seventh, and is building a strong working relationship with Alexis in his newfound role. The forward come under increased pressure last term, but his doubters have been silenced somewhat by the star’s form.

New signing Shkodran Mustafi and Petr Cech are next at 14 and 16 in rankings, also backing up our recent run of wins due to strong defensive displays.

Mesut Ozil has not looked half the player he was last term, but he still scraped into the rankings in 20th spot.

Is Walcott finally going to prove Wenger’s stubbornness right? Does Koscielny deserve to keep the captain’s armband regardless of Per Mertesacker’s inclusion?
