Ramsey keen to be part of Arsenal’s Emery revolution

There has been many Arsenal rumours discussing whether Aaron Ramsey could be sold this summer as there has still no progress on his contract extension talks, in fact he agent recently revealed that the negotiations hadn’t even started.

But now that we have the new manager in place the talks can now begin in earnest, and after the Welshman’s excellent form last season there are not many Gooners that would be happy to see him leave.

As soon as Emery was announced as the new coach SkySports revealed that the Spaniard wanted Ramsey to be central to his new vision of the team, and now Ramsey seems to be just as keen be part of his revolution at the Emirates. When asked yesterday if he was looking forward to working with Emery, Ramsey replied: “Of course. I haven’t spoken to him at all yet, but I think it’s an exciting time for the club.

“I can’t wait to get back there now.”

That sounds very positive from Ramsey and I am sure the club will come to an agreement with him, although there have been rumours about him wanting a mouth-watering pay-rise. One of the main bugbears for Arsenal fans about Ramsey is the amount of time he spends on the treatment table, and Aaron revealed that he had picked up another knock in last night’s 0-0 draw with Mexico. He said: “I rolled my ankle but I’d taken the armband from Ash and I thought I had to stay on and do my bit for the team,”

“It wasn’t the best surface in the world and my ankle is a bit sore.

“Hopefully there will be no lasting damage and it will settle down over the next few days.”

He will have ample time to recover over the summer as Wales did not quite make the cut for the World Cup, so he will also have lots of time to sit down with the new Gunners team and agree a new contract. Do we all want him to stay?

  1. Arsenal will definitely sign some players. Maybe before or after the World Cup. However, I m eager to see who’s gonna improve massively under the new manager.

    Ramsey
    Xhaka
    Mustafi
    Iwobi
    Etc

Looking forward to see who will improve drastically..

    1. I would be more than happy to see all them you mentioned sold ,even if they improved 20% it would still be below what is required for this team

  2. I rate Ramsey .glad he’s staying

    We need two dms
    Ndidi and torriera
    Doucore and torriera
    Doucore and ndidi
    Mothersucker pick one !

Arsenal playing ….prob get seri and forsberg lol

    1. On another note sell ozil .
We can get at least 65
That’s one creative cm and one dm right there
      Plus there wages

      1. I’m not sure we could get that much for him but I’m on board with selling him. He is what he is and I can’t see Unai Emery being able to shape him into the type of players he needs to play his style. If Barcelona get Griezmann then maybe we can sell them Ozil on the cheap in return for a Dembele loan…

        1. That will be another triangular transfer deal again, after the Giroud-Batshuayi-Aubameyang transfers

If we can get at least twenty millions for him, that would be good enough

                1. Hopefully Unai can get him to shoot occasionally instead of always passing into a penalty area packed full of opposition defenders.

      2. Sun is. now catching up on your Lucas Torreira thing. I hope they won’t take credit for it when materialize and fans won’t go mental when he goes to another club. Nobody knows what is going on behind the season and the fact that Jack is still affiliated with arsenal instead of being released tells a lot about it.

        1. Wilshere is obviously waiting to see what teams come in for him, if nothing decent is offered he’ll sign the extension with us, for that reason I’d withdraw the deal on the table and tell him to find another club.

  3. He could be more consistent if Arsenal play with 4-3-3, because the creative midfieders will have the protection of the DM

But he is not consistent enough in 4-2-3-1 or the other double pivot midfielder formations, such as the 3-4-2-1. When he joins the attackers in the front, he leaves the DM alone

I would like him to stay, because he has tremendous stamina and goal instinct, but no if he demands huge salary increase like Ozil

  4. If we were to get a DM this summer, from these two who would suit Arsenal better than the other

    Nzonzi
    Weigl

  5. i rate Aaron high he probably will extend another year on his contract unless they offer a really good salary,

Man-C, Liverpool soon Chelsea and United will be unstoppable’s and this is the result of years of under funding and we continue wit that trend, even if Emery dose an “Orangina” on the squad it might shake it a for a while but it will soon settle back to its old self unless we buy in some known good players with wining mentality to keep our existing players on their toes

    1. Tas, i have had that so, so and so will be unstoppable quite a lot and the end of the day only team is unstoppable. Man city this concluded season and Chelsea before that. Liverpool was stopped despite flying so high in the beginning of the season. Chelsea after spending over 250m did a tiny little bit better than us. I want new players better than what we have but they don’t have to be overvalued and over hyped players. There a lot players like that in Europe and South American.

    2. The only way we can slow any of those four teams down is to sell them Ramsey, then let Sven find a new box to box player.

  6. We Definitely Need Ramsey To Stay Even If It Means A Huge Pay Rise. He Has Paid His Dues Over The Years & Certainly Deserves It.
When You Get To Play First Team Football At An Early Age, Frequent Injuries Are To Be Expected. That Should Therefore, Not Count Against Him!

  7. What to do with Ramsey Wilshere
    Jenkinson Wellbeck Holding
It will be fascinating to see how
many of these players Emery can motivate
to push on to the next level.
All these players are over age quota players
and are safe in the knowledge that they have a
well paying job in pro football till they are 30.
Gibbs Walcott and Chamberlain were shown the door last season
but all enjoyed a similar life style at their new PL clubs.
Many of the overseas players are in the comfort zone too
and would find similar paying jobs elsewhere.
Emery has quite the task of resuscitating this squad
    let alone galvanizing them.
But that’s what he claims to be able to do.
    Intriguing times.

  8. Toreira can be our own kante he’s a rough tackler and a good set piece taker plus He’s quite comfortable in possession.so I hope we get him b4 the world cup cause he’ll definitely come more expensive especially if he starts for Uruguay. I hope we bring in teriera, seri, caglar, socratis, litchstiener, another winger(forsberg, dembele,Malcolm, pavon) and ofcourse a keeper

  9. Pls don’t tell me these players are too much coz we really need that depth in quality to compete and get back into the top four.we have to compete in the ever draining europa, the F.A cup, league cup and the league. imagine the whole squad being
    GK.chech Rico/Leno,macey
    D.F
    Kos
    Sokratis
    Caglar
    Mavropanos
    Kolasinac
    Montreal
    Bellerin
    Litchstiener
    Mustafi (loan holding and chambers)
    MIDFIELD
    elneny
    Xhaka
    Seri
    Toreira
Amn(wish wilshere the best in his next club)
    FORWARD
    Ozil
    Mhki
    Ramsey
    Lacazette
    Auba
    Forsberg/Malcolm/pavon
    Iwobi
    Nketia.
Now we have youth in there & that’s about enough we talking bout serious stuff not (pikin things)kids play

    1. Good one.
Ramsey is injury prone and can’t be relied on for a full season campaign
For the amount of money he would paid weekly if he signs the new contract, you need the player to Atleast be a 35 league matches per season player.
      Ramsey unfortunately isn’t that man.

I’m fully in support of cashing in on him, if good offer comes in.

  10. On topic-I believe I have the same feelings towards Aaron Ramsey as many other supporters. At times you wonder why he is even in the team. His work rate is always there and even when he is not playing well he never hides and always looks to go forward. But he is such an infuriating player.Wenger played him no matter what. But his awful little flicks that never come off and him consistently losing possession soon has the crowd moaning at him.BUT.On his day when his runs into the box are picked out and he finishes like we know he can he is as good a player as there is out there. The trouble seems to be he is either one or the other and nothing ever in the middle.
We will moan at him if he stays and we will mourn him if he goes.He is just that sort of player

  11. Rambo is one of those infuriating players, when he is good he is world class… but when he has a bad lazy game…. Oh my! It is a stinker!

I’ve defended Wenger a LOT when it comes to transfers but Rambo lack of consistency I feel is Wengers fault for not developing him good enough at the end and lacking game plans…

Emery might be able to unleash his best consistently… If he does then WOW! We are going to be loving next season 😛

    1. But with all honesty, the only player who tried in the athletico Madrid away game was Ramsey,, everyone else was poor

      1. I do think he had one of his better seasons last season when thinking about it as a whole, he still lacked that def urgency in parts of many games but overall I think he has shown that he has the talent…

For me, Rambos best was that half season alongside Arteta before he got injured, he was not only being a real threat (constantly) but he was putting in more tackles than Arteta who was the holding player, I was drooling over his performances then. I can’t be sure without checking and I can’t be bothered right now 😛 but I think he was putting in something like 3 tackles per game, or 3.3… something like that.

        1. Yeah he had a great season then-but most of that was because Santi Cazorla was making everyone look good

  12. I hope Ramsey stays but am not desperate for this. If Emery should decide to let him go, which seems unlilely though, I will not be losing any sleep. But he will be hard to replace in standard for any fee we would agree to pay. I can see Emery making him club captain and he is probably the only real choice, but only IF he signs a new contract first.

    1. Jon , I still find it hard to accept 36 league goals in ten years is good enough for an attacking midfielder. I think with the money we could get for him there’s better out there and Sven’s the man to find him.

      1. Hey Kenny. You do know that players actually improve with age?
How many goals did Van Persie score before he was 27?

  13. Let’s stop having players bigger than the club. Happy to see Ramsey stay but he either sign a contract or ue goes. We need 100% comitted players at the start of Emery era.

  14. Ramsay have had a fair season, but if he goes or not we can find better options, puzzling thing is when Emery said he would build the team around Aub and Ramsay, I understand Aub part, but not Ramsay who is very injury prone, we need leaders who are there in every match consistently not now and then.
