Real Madrid certain that Arsenal’s Alexis won’t sign new deal

Real Madrid are claimed to be eyeing a potential deal for Alexis Sanchez, with the club believed to be certain that no new Arsenal contract will be signed.

The Chilean international has failed to agree contract terms with the club despite initial talks 18 months ago, and has appeared increasingly likely to quit the club before next season.

Arsenal actually accepted an offer from Manchester City last summer for his signature, before failing to agree terms with Thomas Lemar, before pulling out of the deal with the Citizens.

Real Madrid are now believed to be growing confident of striking a deal for the former Barcelona man, and would be able to discuss personal terms over a potential free transfer come January.

The Galacticos club are said to believer that Alexis will not be signing a new deal with the Gunners, and any attempt to agree terms would be a waste of time.

Mesut Ozil is also in the same situation at Arsenal, with his contract also running out come next summer, and he also began negotiations 18 months previous to no avail. The German on the other hand is claimed to be open to the possibility of staying beyond his current deal, although Manchester United are believed to be keen.

The duo were key in putting Tottenham Hotspur to the sword only last week, and it will be a huge loss to the club to lose both come next summer, and some big signings will no doubt be needed in their place.

Is there still a chance that Alexis could sign a new contract? Could we persuade him to join Real instead of Man City?
