However, Arsenal wanted to keep the World Cup winner despite signing Bruno Guimaraes, and they got their wish. The Gunners now have much stronger depth in midfield as they look to compete across the season.
Arsenal see themselves as one of the top teams in the world and believe they need to keep their best players to continue competing this term, which they expect to be better than the last one.
The Gunners have consistently kept their players happy, but it is difficult to say Zubimendi is satisfied with his current situation, as he has hardly received game time at the Emirates over the last few weeks.
Zubimendi facing limited game time
Since returning from the World Cup, Zubimendi has been spending time on the bench, and his lack of regular football could eventually lead to questions over his future at Arsenal.
The midfielder was the subject of interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea during the summer, but Arsenal were determined to retain him. The club now face the possibility of having to make another decision if his situation does not improve.
Zubimendi remains an important part of Arsenal’s midfield options, particularly after the club strengthened that area by signing Guimaraes. However, having greater depth also means increased competition for places.

Real Madrid maintain interest
Zubimendi could leave in the middle of the season, as Team Talk reports that Real Madrid are pushing to add him to their squad. The La Liga side considers him one of its most important targets and has maintained contact with his agents.
Real Madrid could therefore push to seal a deal as soon as the transfer window reopens next year. Arsenal would love to keep Zubimendi, but his limited opportunities could make his future increasingly uncertain.
If the midfielder continues to struggle for regular playing time, Arsenal may eventually have to consider allowing him to leave. For now, however, Zubimendi remains at the Emirates, while Real Madrid continues to monitor his situation and prepare for a potential approach when the transfer window reopens.

Both Zubimendi and Gyokeres leave next summer. The only departure in January will be Noni Madueke. It seems certain Arsenal will bring in a forward in January, Osimhen most likely, but Gyokeres won’t be allowed to leave as Osimhen is where we are short on CF for the run in, not one in one out.
No one leaves Arsenal in January. No player wants to leave a title winning team. You can’t exchange a butter for oil. Quadruple at stake!
No, can’t count cup competitions till lifting it and dropping the lid, teams who win them tend to get lucky draws – like we didn’t have to face Barca last year thanks to Alvarez, nou camp in semi final would have been tough. Pep’s City only won one CL, Liverpool enjoyed Spuds in final more than they would have City.
We are rightful favourites for league title thanks to our squad depth, but even that can’t take too many injuries in one area of team, we don’t have any convincing 9 behind Kai, it’s easy to imagine Saka and Ode and Kai all out at same time. And wondering where our next goal is coming from for a month or 2. To win the title we still need luck with injuries or it’s someone luckier wins title this year.
It’s almost down to how careful Havertz and Haarland are in the Bedroom. Haarland stubs his toe out for 3 months, Arsenals title. Kai stubs toe out for 3 months, Man City’s title.
And you are talking about winning all 4 trophy’s.
Kai would be a significant loss but he’s used less and less as a 9 now. Besides, you forget our other Mikel hero – Merino 😂🤫. Until we’re knocked out, I want all the tournament trophies as well as the league, I’m greedy that way. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t play it smart while still trying to do so.
It’s the fans who think it’s easy adding cups to titles who are the problem. Adding cups when title dominant is not easy – just one ECL for Pep from his Man City years as example.
France went into World Cup thinking they were going to win it, as did several sides – it’s a credit to England fans they didn’t expect England to win it.
Don’t get me wrong, us Arsenal fans really should have high hopes of defending our Prem Title. And be gutted if we don’t. We can get knocked out of comes any tough match, favourites for cups rarely win them.
Having said that though, looking at Man City and Arsenals next ten games, I expect Man City to be 3 or 4 points ahead of us soon, 6 or 7 if they beat us in the match at their place. I think we can still win it from there, overhauling them in the final two thirds of the season, but has anyone else done the same, compared our next ten to City’s and expect City to lead the table soon?
EFL CUP DRAW
We got a bye into quarter finals. Good. Either Sunderland or Brentford out in cage fight, either Anfield or Bridge eliminated as QF destination.
A lot of the ties seem a 50/50 match up.
