RELAX! In just 2 games Arsenal can be title challengers

From what we have seen from the Arsenal team so far it is going to take a significant turnaround in form to achieve two wins from the next two Premier League encounters, but we know that the Gunners can blow hot and cold and so I would not be at all surprised if Arsene Wenger and the players confound the general consensus of the football pundits and do it.

Bournemouth at home is a game you would almost hand pick at the minute, with Arsenal fans ready to revolt and desperate for any sort of positive from the club. The Cherries might even provide the extra morale boost of getting hammered if Arsenal can score early and start to produce the kind of flowing, creative and attacking football for which we have become famous under Le Prof.

So for arguments sake let us say we win today. Next up would be Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and although an away clash with the reigning EPL champions does not sound appetising we should remember that Arsenal have well and truly put to one side the awful record we had against them for years.

A 3-0 smashing in the league last season has been followed up by the FA cup final win and the Community Shield last month, so there is no reason why Arsenal cannot come away from next weekend’s game with all three points. That would give us nine, which would make us at least level on points with Chelsea who currently have six and would almost certainly catapult us back to the top part of the table and put Arsenal back in contention with the teams hoping to lift the Premier League trophy next May.

So why not just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride Gooners?

  1. If I were to have my memory wiped, then yes, I would believe we could win the title, because the squad is certainly good enough. Problem is, that I’m fully aware of how bad Wenger has been, is, and will be. He’s clearly getting worse. In fact, he’s become so bad, that he doesn’t even know what positions his players play in anymore!

Despite the clear regression, I am very relaxed, but it’s all so predictable. Nothing comes as a surprise anymore. But I won’t just sit back though. I really hope to go to at least one game this season, and protest against the tyranny.

    1. OT – what a laugh re Ox-Chamberlain…. plays crap as looking for a move to Liverpool and part of team that loses 4-0 to them…. says he wants to play Central Midfield… Starts on the bench … comes on at right wing and team loses 5-0 ! I would love it if we finish above Liverpool and also Ox spends whole season not in his favourite position… sick and tired of players at Arsenal using the club and then after one good season looking to fill their boot elsewhere !

Come on the Gunners – lets get this season going at home to Bournemouth and get a bit of a run going… support the team !

  2. Come on Bournemouth put the final nail in wengers coffin and put us arsenal fans out of our missery!! Arsenal 1 Bournemouth 2!! Wenger out!!

    1. The schedule from now through
the New Year is relatively soft.
      Only 2 tough games really
      Chelsea and Man City away.
The Europa league is soft and Arsenal
are always the luckiest team in the land
when it comes to League Cup and FA cup draws.
So yes on paper as long as Arsenal win games against
teams 7 through 20 Arsenal could be title challengers by New Year.
6-0 v Bournemouth should kick the title surge off nicely.

    2. Sorry for calling you an idiot but you are. Your an idiot for even hoping AW would get sacked for losing to Bournemouth. And how frustrated are you to want AFC to lose ? Maybe talk to someone about it ?

  3. Wouldn’t Man U, City, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool have to lose the next two games we want to dream about title challenges in just two games?

In all seriousness, I don’t think Arsenal under Wenger is the type of team that should look more than one game ahead. First things first, we have stopped the rot and as you say no easier game than Bournemouth to do that. After that, we can think about Chelsea.

But do yourself a favor and forget to speak about the title until we are within three points next April.

Personally, I don’t care as much about the result today as about Wenger’s team selection. I hope he can signal to us that he has learned his lessons from the ridiculous experiments over the last games and that he will field 3 CD and not play Monreal as middle CD and that he plays Laca in the center and Kolasinac as left wing-back and Bellerin as right Wingback, to start.

  4. It must be nice to be in such a non caring state about The Arsenal and just sit back and enjoy each game and blindly hope that things will somehow be different in the league than it has been for more than 10 years for no good reason other than you would like it.
Sadly a lot of us care deeply and it cuts us to the core that we have not been able to compete in the league since 2004. This is why we cannot just sit there with a beer and a hot dog and hapily watch our team get worse each season.
Our leader was on the TV yesterday saying he would not change his approach so there is no reason why we are suddenly get any better. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. He is insane.

    1. There is no one definition of insanity.
      Insanity can be described in
      a hundred different ways.
      Is Arsene insane?
Getting paid 8 mill while being under no pressure
to win anything important is rather successful don’t you think?
Drives fans who want Arsenal to win insane though 🙂

        1. Disagree with Ivan.

It is not that Arsenal have got worse. Rather other teams have spent more and got better. The EPL has more parity now with the top 5-6 teams.

Just battering your team without context misses reality, but also suggests that somehow we are entitled to be up there every year.

What has taken place is more improvements at Arsenal: Ozil, Sanchex, Lacazette.

What is need is dumping of senior British players. I hope Wenger can either play Ramsey wide, or sell him to ManU for 50M. Then put Kolasanic in Ramsey’s slot, some that can be done even now.

          1. JJPawn your blind support of the old man damages the team. Accept that Wenger, like George Graham, Terry Venables, Matt Busby and Brian Clough who were all once respected managers has past his prime and is not fit to manage a top club anymore. I have still not forgotten that his putting two left backs in at centre back and then playing Hector in at LWB for the first ever time cost us in two games. That is just madness. No reason at all as there were centre backs available.

  5. With Wenger in charge we are more relegation candidates than championship contenders.
I really don’t understand why we are even being talked about in relation to the championship.
We will never be anything under this regime.

  6. I heard Mr Dick is about to resign? Now if it’s true then heads will start rolling.

    Who next
    Wenger
    Ivan
    Sir K
    Or Kronk..

Just hope for a win today but with aa shaky thought.
What AW put determines the Result.

  7. Watching Man City v Liverpool and seeing the efforts both teams are putting up for the fight and the tactics of the managers coming through, I realised I have not heal from the defeat to Liverpool and the fact that we played so badly it was unforgivable made it even more difficult. Arsenal needs a change!

    1. Being targeted by other “great” coaches makes our players vulnerable. It is tough situation as those teams are constantly trying to undermine us, and Arsenal fans assist rival coaches by destroying team morale. Well done.

  8. What is this? Blind optimism, yeah?

You talk about our recent results against Chelsea, can you please tell me when Arsenal last won from home against a ‘big six’ club?

If Bournemouth should get anything out of today’s game, then Wenger is in big soup

  9. Yes we will have titles..

    Title of Biggest Chokers!
    Title of Most Predictable
    Title of Perennial Underachievers
Title of Most laughed at Club
Title of 6th Richest Club in the WORLD

    Title after title…

    1. 3 FA Cups in five years? Or something like that?

We do have the worse fans, a bunch of whinging, whining, video-game managers, who have destructive access to social media, sort of like Trump. Losers.

  10. judging by the way City play, we are likely to get hammered if we face them

    Jesus is outstanding…

Mendy is a fantastic crosser…would have suited us…crossing the ball to Giroud or a perfect pass from the left to Lacazette….

  11. Sam P your as delusional as Wenger
Hasn’t this relax fans comment bite u on the &@ÂŁ! Once before already. I guess school is closed at weekends

  12. Someone had to step down after the Lemar debacle. He wanted to come to us. How many players of his quality want to come to us these days? Actually both he and Mahrez wanted to come.

Its so ridiculous that we couldn’t get this done within 3 months. Lemar agreed a ÂŁ250,000 per week contract too

One down, now 3 to go. Wenger, Kroenke and Gazidas need to go for any real hope

    1. Who is to blame for that?

If you did your home work, you would know that Monaco are a selling team out to make money. Why would not want 100M for Lamar, after PSG paid 200M for Nyemar? That is why they waited for the last minute.

  13. Manchester City showing Arsenal what can happen when you put possession to good use.
Anyone confident of a competent performance today?
    Me either…

    1. ManCity has great players at almost every position. That is what Wenger is trying to get us to by improving the squad with purchases of “quality”.

Wenger cannot do more than the money he has. Blame the owners, not Wenger.

    1. This is sort of blindness of the limited use of the internet… can bring.

If you dug deeper you would understand how things are developing in other teams, what money has done to the game in the last ten years.

Wenger is now asking for foreign funds with a change in rules for a free for all, and the financial fair play is a farce.

      1. JJPawn you are making stories up now. Wenger is not asking for foreign funds at all. That is simply not true. You are critisizing others for “This is sort of blindness of the limited use of the internet… can bring” without spotting that you are the mpst guilt party.
We do get it that you are 100% a Wenger supporter but please do not make up stories and please open your eyes Wenger is not the man he was 15 years ago.
I am pleased to say that we did win today despite and not because of the old man and that Dick Law is going too.
