Rotation? Wenger to ‘freshen up’ Arsenal team to face Man United

Arsene Wenger picks the same starting XI for five games in a row? Unheard of! Could he now be aiming for a sixth unchanged side after our listless display against Swansea?

For some reason I doubt this very much, especially after reading this quote from our Dear Leader: “If the players are tired, I’m ready to do it because I have a very strong squad and I haven’t decided yet what I will do,”

“We have three games to finish the season and it’s important that everybody contributes until the end. It’s important that at some stage you freshen up.”

At first glance that seems a strange thing for Wenger to say, considering he has had most of his squad available but continues naming an unchanged side. The fact that he sent Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott on against Swansea to replace the out-of-sorts duo of Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin makes me think that there could be further changes coming for this crucial match at Old Trafford.

Last season when we were struggling to hang on to Fourth Place, Wenger purposely turned to his most experienced players to keep calm in the stress-filled run-in, and that worked out perfectly, but who could he rotate on Sunday? Possibly he could reinstate Matthieu Flamini to give Coquelin a well-earned rest, or maybe start with Wilshere in the middle?

Up front we have Danny Welbeck unlikely to be available, so if we don’t go with Giroud then I can only see Walcott taking his place. Tomas Rosicky was an unused sub against Swansea but maybe he could replace a half-fit Ramsey?

What changes would you make to help Arsenal get their momentum back?
