Blackburn CAN do Arsenal a HUGE favour in FA cup

While Arsenal were inflicting more misery on Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool for the second game in a row, we handed a great advantage to Blackburn Rovers, the Championship side that will try to return the favour by knocking the Reds out of the FA cup on Wednesday.

I am not taking anything for granted as Arsenal have to beat Reading at Wembley before facing either of the two. Anything can happen in cup games, but you would fancy us – and then we would clearly prefer a final against Blackburn or Aston Villa.

So the Liverpool boss is really going to have to earn his money this week if he is to get his players out of a big hole. Just like last season they look like they are coming spectacularly off the rails after a brilliant and ominous run of results.

The way their former player Steve McManaman ranted on about the idiocy of Emre Can getting a second yellow for a daft late scissor tackle on Danny Welbeck shows you just how much trouble he has put his club in. With Liverpool already missing their captain Steven Gerrard and their best defender Martin Skrtel through suspensions, the loss of Can leaves their defence threadbare and that will be sorely tested by Blackburn.

A few hours after the beaten Liverpool players trudged off the Emirates pitch, Rovers warmed up for their clash with a nice and easy 3-0 win away to Leeds United. So they will go into the cup game in great spirit and high on confidence, while Liverpool could hardly be in a worse position.

Are the Gunners destined for another FA cup trophy this year?

  1. Liverpool beaten, Southampton lost, Tottenham drew to Burnley. Top 4 is sealed, now we only have to look up!

    1. @MTG.
I think that is the real problems. We seem to relax when there is no pressure. Or better put: we perform well when we are pushed to the wall.

  2. Lets Focus to our Match Against Reading! We are the might…ARSENAL, THIS IS OUR BIG CHANCE TO RETAIN THE Fa Cup!! #COYG

    1. Disagree. let’s focus on Burnley game and get 3 points.
Then we can think about the Cup.
      COYG

  3. Yes lets focus on Burnley. Remember there are no pushovers. City played them twice and didn’t win either (lost and drew). They also drew with Chelsea.

So we must be on top form like yesterday. Again, like every game from now on, this is a MUST win.

In terms of FA Cup, we need to focus 100% on Reading. I don’t care about the other semi final.
    1. Because it’s distracting
    2. Because this article makes an assumption thar we will be in the final which is disrespectful to reading. If we are not at our best then we could lose.
    3. IF we get to the final, I don’t mind if it’s Reading or Liverpool, because I believe both will be difficult to beat. FA cup finals are usually tough matches.

    Again, lets focus on Burnley
Next weekend I want to be AS happy as I was this weekend

    4-1 🙂

  4. I think the managment can do us a favour By not having the Emirates cup this summer it’s too much after the far-east tours, we are nackered before we start the season.

        1. Thailand :))

yes i have to learn to wear my glasses and remember which language i’m thinking at the time of writing, i am always juggling with few languages all day and every day, Shah i apologize for my bad spelling but it wont be my last :))

by the way where are we having the tournament ??

  5. favours?! liverpool will shoot themselves in the foot again by going to 10 men for the 3rd consecutive game.

  6. Danny Welbeck has the capability to be a top top player for Arsenal and England. I always like what I see when he plays on the wings (the left wing especially). If he can add goals to his game that will be fantastic.

  7. If we can win all our remaining games, and retain the FA cup, then that will be a successful season. Losing out to Monaco was a shame though.

  8. I think we area wry close to where most fans wants us to bee, challenging for the PL , sign
    Schneidelin experience and quality 25m
Sign Stones a good upcoming CB and home grown 20m
Sign Lacazette as a second striker who will mature 25m
We will be sorted for years to come
Will be hard to replace Corzola though in a couple of years
