Because the World Cup began almost immediately after the season ended, Saliba did not have enough time to recover properly before representing France. He continued playing for his country until he was unable to continue during the semifinals, highlighting the difficulties caused by the ongoing issue.
There were initial fears that Saliba would need surgery to resolve the problem, but the report states that this will not be necessary. Instead, he is expected to make a full recovery through rest and rehabilitation without undergoing an operation.
Arsenal prepare for Saliba’s return
Arsenal must now allow Saliba the required time to heal, meaning he will not take part in football activities until he is ready. The defender is not expected to return to the club for pre-season as Arsenal aim to ensure he only comes back once he has fully recovered.

I’m guessing that Saliba will be out for 6/8 weeks🤔
Players often play through the pain barrier and it can come back to haunt them. Saliba isn’t the only one with lack of full fitness and the rigours of a successful season exacerbate the situation for the club as well.
Hopefully he’ll return fully rested and the injury isn’t one of those that keeps coming back.

As someone who has lived with periodic back pain for around 3 decades, i sympathise with Saliba who I assume has had at least one full MRI scan to determine the root of the problem.The fact that his treatment does not involve surgery, suggests that the problem could relate to one of his SI joints which can be treated with a combination of rest and manipulation. In that case it could take around two months for him to recover and ongoing exercises will probably be needed to maintain the “fix”Without Saliba,France suffered against Spain and England and i only hope Arsenal can cope without him.

You are similar to me as I have had a back problem for 3 decades too. I presume yours is also lower back (lumber) instead of cervical or thoracic.
Because of Mosquera, Hincapie and Calafiori I think we have enough cover. Also, Norgaard can play there as emergency CB. I hope we do not use White (as I do not rate him as a CB). He is fine as a RB or even in central midfield. I think he is the same level as Zubimendi.
They must have an idea of time and I would think, its not as long as an operation. And not something that will heal🤞
I hope for Saliba’s sake that he gets well and back as soon as possible. I’ll be interested to see how Saka and Rice rock-up in pre-season. They to were carrying injury’s going into and during the World Cup.
Those pesky Internationals keep getting in Arsenal’s way don’t they.
