Sanchez accepting to stay gives Arsenal serious title hopes for season

Alexis Sanchez has supposedly accepted that he will be spending the next 12 months at Arsenal, boosting our chances of winning our first Premier League title since 2004.

The Chilean has been heavily speculated about all summer, with links to a large number of top European clubs, but no such move has been arranged.

Juventus, Bayern Munich, PSG, Barcelona and rival Premier League clubs have all become favourites to sign him at one point in the window or another, but only the Camp Nou club appear to be in the market for big arrivals at present.

Alexis has refused to pour water on the speculation, and has even claimed that he wanted to be playing Champions League football, with a team who could win it, but his wishes seem to have been overlooked, with Arsene Wenger insisting he will not be sold.

Latest reports now move to claim that he has come to terms with the reality that he will have to see out the last season of his contract, with no concrete offers coming in, and with Arsenal refusing to negotiate with their Premier League rivals.

Sanchez staying is a huge boost to our credentials as we look to mount a serious challenge on the top of the table, with his creativity and attacking prowess giving us a great chance of finally winning the league, especially with the clinical finishing of Alexandre Lacazette added to the squad.

I hate to sound like a Liverpool fan, but there is no reason why this year cannot be our year…

Is this our best squad since the Invincibles?
