Sané to Man City leaves Arsenal free to seal Mahrez transfer

The obstacles standing in the way of Arsenal completing the summer transfer of this fantastic forward from the Foxes have been handily moving out of the way over the last week, although there are still some questions about whether Riyad Mahrez is ready to move on, and whether his current club Leicester City are determined not to sell him.

The next week or so should at least tell us how serious Arsene Wenger is about signing the 25-year old Algerian who set the Premier League on fire last season with his 17 goals and 11 assists to highlight his all-round impact and contribution to the surprise title winning campaign.

Surely our manager would like to have Mahrez in the Arsenal team but with La Liga champions Barcelona and the mega rich EPL rivals Man City and their new coach Pep Guardiola said to be after him as well I was not particularly optimistic about our chances.

Now though, just a few days after the Spanish media declared that Barca were out of the race, a report by The Guardian explains that Man City are set to seal the transfer of the young German international forward Leroy Sane from Schalke.

That puts the Gunners firmly in pole position and with a clear run at Mahrez, so will Wenger get the deal done?

    1. Exactly…manure are getting pogba as well and they don’t even have champions league..what is wenger doing???nothing…i think we should just pay the 90 mil for higuain cuz he is worth every penny and get mahrez.with front 4 of higuain, alexis, mahrez and ozil we will dominate.every club is buying it’s starting to make me crazy

  1. What a week it would be if we could seal Mahrez & Icardi in the same week!! Am I dreaming…probably!! But one of the 2 would greatly boost our offensive prowess and would open the door for a roaming Sanchez or even a 4-4-2 as a tactical switch!! Again we’ll wait for an official confirmation!
It would be great cause both Özil & Sanchez were bought with the 2 clubs (Barca & Real) willing to sell! Forcing Leicester to listen with an offer they can’t refuse and getting the player would show some intent and add gloss & versatility to our team with a proper winger that can work hard too!

A CB after that and will be set…Koulibaly? Marquinhos? Kostas?Lucas Hernandez? No excuse with we can’t find the right player…look at what Man U & City are doing…

    1. I think koulibali would be the best option..we need a beast.. Icardi would be OK but I prefer higuain.why not spend big while our competitors are

    2. @Raoh i think you must be day dreaming to think Wenger would sign Mahrez & Icardi in the same week or same transfer window

      1. Hahaha I said as much…I know it’s like betting for something you know you are going to lose but you still hope this will be the one exception that justify the rules!

  2. Yes totally.
Arsene will spend 30 mill on
    another midfielder as we
only have 19 midfielders right now.
Just like Arsene will spend 20 mill
on Sisoko another midfielder a player
all of Newcastle think is shite.
Another signing will be Higuain who Arsene believes
is worth every penny of his 80 mill quid fee.
Just in case you have not heard Arsene has also
put in a 120 mill quid bid for Paul Pogba.
Further strength are our defense are the signings
of 40 mill quid Napoli CB Kalidou Koulibli
and Wolfsburg left back Ricardo Rodriguez for 20 mill.
The 310 mill quid spend so far is well below Wengers average
500 mill quid window but there are still 6 weeks left.

  3. Mahrez won’t be sold this summer. Partly due to the no of people leaving Leicester city. You can understand Kante leaving them if they finished in bottom half but as Champions they lost him so therefore the club will do any thing to stop that from happening. It will take a official bid and not talks to seal such kind of transfers.

    1. I watched Liverpool’s pre season highlights and OMG Saido Mane,is on fire..i think he’s a very good signing for Liverpool and i wish we did sign him from Southampton, but no Wenger won’t sign a proven player like him because he prefers the likes of Asano and Wellington Silva. What a pathetic man !! mxm
